Did you know that past champions, Khalsa Junction, UBC Girlz and Duniya Allstars ARE in fact performing at VIBC this year? Read below to find out more...

One of our biggest and most acclaimed events is Downtown Bhangra--a free to the public, open-air Bhangra concert in the heart of Vancouver presented by Edgewater Casino. This year's Downtown Bhangra event is featuring ALL of the past champions of VIBC's Bhangra Competition: Khalsa Junction, UBC Girlz and Duniya Allstars as well as Vancouver's own Bhangra band, En Karma (www.enkarma.ca) as well as a special performance by Delhi 2 Dublin (www.delhi2dublin.com). CKNW radio in Vancouver will be live-to-air for 4 hours, on the first night... this event is not to be missed!

Downtown Bhangra takes place on Friday, February 20th and Saturday, February 21st at the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza. Get more info at vibc.org/downtown.

The Coast Capital Bhangra Competition takes place on Saturday, February 21st and will not only feature 8 hard-hitting Bhangra teams, but also performances by UK's biggest newcomer, H-Dhami. What you may not know, is that we're also bringing in old school Bhangra band Heera... AND, we've facilitated a special reunion performance of Apna Sangeet, featuring Sardara Gill and K.S. Bhamrah... we've even brought their Dholi, Gurcharan Mall, back for an exclusive engagement! Check out the event at vibc.org/competition

As always, tickets are available online at TicketMaster.ca or go to vibc.org/tickets to find ticket locations in Vancouver.

These are only two of the 6 events we're presenting at the City of Bhangra festival. Please go to our flashy new website at vibc.org/cityofbhangra2009 to read more!

VIBC's City of Bhangra -- North America's Largest Bhangra Festival

It should be interesting to see KJ perform...

I wonder whether they'll have new choreo or just rehash their old routines. If it is new choreo, I wonder whether it'll be KJ or whether they'll just go folk.
