I can respect your opinion, but theres absolutely no way you could rate both that Serato Bhangra and this in the same range.... so immediately I would say maybe your assessment is affected by the 'hype' (i.e. definition of hating)

I can respect your opinion, but theres absolutely no way you could rate both that Serato Bhangra and this in the same range.... so immediately I would say maybe your assessment is affected by the 'hype' (i.e. definition of hating)

actually i thought seratos was a lot worse than a C but i was just being nice. i really dont see what you guys see in klasikhs mixing. hes bettet than the average mixer but so many of his beats clash. hes taking a hip jop instrumental to a punjabi song. it lacks flow and creativity. i have my opinion. im not a hater at all. im just ridic honest. i dont hate on anyone man. i respect the dude for his work but not even jay z comes out with all bangers. personally though hes better than most but i think a few djs on this board have more talent than hin based on mixing.

Something that bothers me about the whole "its a hip hop beat and a punjabi song." It has been said by many people to many dj's/mixers that post their stuff on the forum. Every time I read such a comment, my thought is: well no shit!

People MIX music together. That's the point of mixing: to take song A and fuse it with song B. But doesn't sound good? As abhigames always brings up, do the pitches match? Does it make your head bob? If it does those things, why do you say its not creative? the mixer may not be the first to think that those 2+ songs would go well together but he/she made it work and it sounded great. Why isn't that creative?

IMO, standard mixes are put together don't really make my head bob or put a smile on my face. creative mixes make me smile and my head bob.

(this isn't an attack on DjFresh or any DJ I just wanna know because clearly there is something I'm missing)

the versatility on this is far greater than their last albums, which is really nice...they have some dance, house, loungey, etc. I like all the little quotes they have in it, no idea how they find the best quotes or have some database of clips lol....its crazy. Thats like some serious research required there.

The production value is unparalleld...just really great EQing, you can see a lot of are and attention to detail in the sounds theyre trying to make.

For all the lights, did u really get kanye to say that?! Hah that would be awesome. love the nas throwbackk with 50 cent sounds like, pretty cool.

This is def the best bhangra mixtape out there...and a lot of upcoming and experienced djs, including myself, can learn a lot from the techniques and the amazing care and attention to detail.

That being said, my only critique, is from a creative standpoint, I don't think there as many "catchy" tunes as theyre have been on lets say the first album. that could be an element of the lack of good bhangra tunes in general coming out, and also the more creative u get with ur mixes, sometimes ur not trying for that mainstream sound anymore.

great job guys! and keeping it free is an amazing thing!

for the voice thing, i'm pretty sure he actually didn't get kanye to say that; klasikhz is just insane at sampling. if you listen to the early DRP mixes, he somehow samples snoop's voice to make him say "DRP." he did the same thing with jay-z's voice for VCU.


and i think people underestimate some of klasikhz's stuff because, at first listen, it's sometimes hard to grasp exactly how many different layers there are on the same track. like if you listen to some of the originals, the difference is just staggering. simple achieving the seamless integration of so many different tracks is absolutely amazing, and entirely worthy of respect.

f fighter A was to Kick fighter B to the body this would score fighter A 3 points however if fighter B was to execute a Jab only worth 1 point but it was seen as more effective {displaced balance / mentally stunned opponent} Then fighter B would steal the 3 points plus his 1 point for the Jab.

I can respect your opinion like most people. Certainly, you have a background that would lend credence to a deeper understanding of music. However, what I disagree with is the portion of "it's just mixing a hip hop beat with a punjabi song." I've had the opportunity to work with Iqwak on a few things and there are a multitude of elements, both punjabi and hip hop, that he is incorporating into the tune. Frankly, it borderlines production and mixing because he's literally sampling a tumbi from Song A and a sarangi from Song B etc etc to create a distinctive sound. The creativity comes from blending these sounds together in such a well constructed fashion. Plus, you notice that there are dub step, rock, pop, techno elements strewn across the album. Again, that's the beauty in it - the album literally tries to push the limits of what we are all accustomed to. We've all seen that start to happen in sets over the last few years but to do it over a full length song is another matter in itself.

Again, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I'd like to hear what you would do differently for the benefit of the community rather than a subjective grade and a relative assessment of his work against others out there. Those elements tend to water down the opinion.
