The Game utilizes a west coast style already established by his predecessors ( Snoop, Kurupt, Daz, Dre, DPGC in general)....L A X is a good album but I am going to have to disagree with you as far as it being better than C III.

...Of course...I am what some people call an "overly obsessed lil wayne fan"...still...L A X shows no lyrical range from the Game....he spits the way he spits...his voice, delivery, and flow do not change throughout the whole album despite the wide range of producers he happens to use...he goes a bit deep from time to time, but I think he comes off too heavy sometime....

personal preference...but to say that its better than the carter III is a huge stretch...Lil Wayne has established his own style and has taken that style across different producers (from the alchemist to kanye west) on one album....

has an extremeeely west coast sound which i guess is what he was aiming for
but i dunno... it all kind of blends together?
havent heard waynes album so cant really compare them

The problem I have with the Game, and also Lil Wayne, is the lack of creativity and variation in subject matter from record to record. Everything just sounds the same to me. I haven't heard all of LAX, but my guess is 90% of it is devoted to talking about the West Coast, cars, weed and upping Dr. Dre. That is fine every now and then, but I think what really shows whether a rapper is the complete package is his ability to switch from that style to a fresh new concept song, to telling a story, to promoting a cause, etc. Not just sticking to one style.

That is part of why everyone loves Tupac so much. He could go from "I get Around" to "Brendas Got a Baby" to "Hit em Up" to "Keep your Head Up". The guy was complex, and displayed his complexity on wax. Hearing the rappers today, you would think they only have 1 thought and rap about it constantly. All the greats have the ability to create a different mood with every song they create. They can take you to a place you have not gone before mentally with what they rap about and challenge your way of thinking and then create a song which just makes you wanna kick back and reminisce and then create a song that just puts you in a good mood. So while every rapper has his bread & butter style which puts them on the map, you would hope that they would branch out and explore different styles at some point. And as much as I am not a fan of Lil Wayne, he does push the boundaries and challenge himself creatively more than The Game.

album is pretty good...def. has the west coast flavor ... one thing i dont like about the game is he talks about other artists too much in his tracks. like kanye, common, jezzy etc..
