The reason I love lbc is not for really any other reason but the fact that there choreo is simple to the point that it seems like anyone can do it(especially the WAY they perform it) and that they are having a blast. So many times you hear about drama and crap everywhere, but to me Bhangra will always be a chill time that looks like an artform. LBC, in my mind, represents that to a tee from there execution to the way they are on stage. It just makes you want to get up and dance.
+1 :)

I heard a lot of good things about LBC this weekend, but this performance didn't really cut it for me. You can obviously tell that each individual dancer is pretty skilled, but as a unit I thought they were pretty sloppy and wouldn't have placed in a lot of competitions. I've seen a lot of great LBC performances live and I love their style, but at certain points in the routine, it just seemed like some dancers were half assing it. Some people call that "laid back LBC style bhangra", but to be honest, it looks bad on video. I thought the routine was dragging until Jasmine showed up, they killed it after that. She is hands down the best female dancer in North America, every time I watch her dance I'm blown away with her style and energy. She solidified a top 3 ranking for them, not sure they could have done it without her... Not a knock on LBC, but this routine was not nearly as clean or polished as I was expecting. Definitely better than what KJ did with their comeback routine, but I was expecting more, maybe it's because I hold you guys to higher standard than most bhangra teams...

I thought they were pretty sick...superman gimmick was kinda average. Did other teams use Dushmani as an intro as well????

This routine was not very imaginative, and frankly seemed lazy. The choreo was recycled at times, and the stunt at the end with Jasmine has been down by Rangla Punjab like 2 years ago. If this was third place, then this competition must have has some pretty bad performances. I love LBC as much as the next guy, but come on, this routine was not worthwile...the formations were bland, the mix was lacking, and the song selection was unappealing. 5/10.

After watching it 5 more times, I am left hoping it was more coordinated. There were little things that they did with the choreo that would have really hit hard if everyone did it the same way.

For example, the Easy-E part, one of the middle guys isn't leaning back/forth. Some of the formations could have been cleaner. Bruin 2007 spoiled us rotten. We got LBC's same style which is fine, but for the style to work, it needs flawless execution which it did not have.

Agree 100% with NSC. Yes, LBC has grace and looks like they are having a blast on stage. But their is a point where "making it look easy" becomes "looking like they are lazy". The execution just wasn't there. I love LBC and think they are the best team to come out of Cali along with Gabroo Shokeen and Heeray, but this performance did not have the coordination and was pretty sloppy overall. Hopefully they keep performing because with some cleaning they are still great individual dancers. I just wish people would take each performance as it is, not based on a team's reputation. If this were a newbie team no one would be calling this a great performance...average instead.

Disclaimer: I love LBC.

My thoughts: I'm not sure why everyone is going nuts about this routine... I love LBC and the classic vardiyan and style, but the dance had some stagnant/ill-suited choreo and song selection, and wasn't executed to the expected level. Short and sweet :)

vick im so happy - what a fair and accurate assessment. This video straight up ROBS them, or humiliates them - the video is not good at all. What Faizan said is true too - it looks pretty sloppy, the dancers look lazy at times (even lazier than their style will allow), and like, its not impressive. at all.

BUT MAN OH MAN was this a pleasure to watch in person. The crowd went absolutely nuts, and i was sitting in an area with not a lot of people around me (Back portion of the lowest level, near the sound manager). Everyone was chanting LBC LBC LBC and when these guys came out it was one of the sickest 8minutes of my life. Everything fell so neatly into place. they looked clean, they looked MAD energetic, the nakhra was really hyping me up, Jasmine coming out was just like an electric shock, and the rest of the time she was there I was in bhangra heaven...in person, this was straight up the best dance of the night!!!

video = 5/10
in person = 10/10
i cant explain it its a phenomenon that makes my brain hurt

Even after watching all teams, I had LBC as my choice 4 first place - most entertaining, best dancing skill, even (from my perspective) the cleanliness and everything were on point (clearly from the vid that's not the case but it looked like it then!)!!! Guess that just goes to show how much video can differ from being there in person. or maybe i had LBCvision turned on at the time. Crowd/speakers' sound, and just the way you look at the dancers (more often than not i was looking at only 1 person at a time in person, but in the video its easier to see everyone at once and notice formations) makes a huge difference

GO LBC!!!! make another comeback next year!! or hell, at Boston - anywhere!
