There also used to be a team at RIT, Sienna College (sulman's home base) and Albany.

I say, take the initiative and set up your own independent team.
Yup, RIT bhangra is up and running. Just difficult having the quarter system rather than semesters, but we are trying to do the best to perform and to get our name out there. So far within the last year, we have received well known recognition on campus and well within Rochester itself. Just trying to expand and take it step by step. It may come some what easier once RIT switches from quarters to semesters in 2013!

Bring back Bhangra Blizzard. UB has a lot of potential with its huge desi population and great facilities (CFA). Put in the effort and make it happen man

Hell yeah son! We are gonna get that going in a year or two. Right now, we are just trying to settle back into the groove. UB Bhangra has been off the scene for a while now, about 4-5 years. We are bring it back, better than ever.

Bhangra Blizzard is a huge feat, so it will take some time to organize.

good luck. i graduated 2 yrs ago and the bhangra scene upstate is pretty minimal, most of the desi's at UB are into really hype/bollywood-ish type bhangra. when i danced there it was hard to garner interest to put in a lot of time and effort to just learn. muqabla isnt held by the bhangra club, its hosted by ISA (indian student assoc). i think the team is trying to revamp and start up again tho, so check them out at muq. me and waleed tried starting an upstate squad a while ago, but again the interest just wasnt there and we didnt have the time to teach like we wouldve wanted

Bhangra Blizzard would be hosted by UB Bhangra... right now... we are trying to reestablish ourselves. ;)

Don't worry. They time will come when Buffalo's Bhangra is back into style.
