MCB Competition Review

After talking to multiple people, I have heard many complaints:
-Teams being disqualified for inappropriate/unfair reasons
-General specs of competition being unorganized
-Judges/Judging (in general)

I'd like to see what others have to say about the competition (from an audience perspective as well as from a competing teams perspective).

Seems like it was quite the interesting competition lol

None the less, congrats to VoT, Shan-E, and NJ on placing :)

Hello RsK,

I am the organizer of the Motor City Bhangra competition. First of all I would like to start this off by thanking all the teams that came out and performed at MCB this weekend. Coming back to some of the points you said in your comment I would really appreciate that when you do say stuff like this please have some kind of a proof to support your comment rather than basing it off of a few handful people that you talked to. The only reason I am saying this is that we work VERY HARD as a committee to make a show happen and we are living in a day and age where whatever is said on Online media whether it is good or bad gets spread over to hundreds of people within seconds so we just want to make sure everyone know the truth and not something that is not true at all.

I would like to answer a few of your concern as an organizer and then I would let other people on BTF reply to it as they are all very knowledgable people and I am sure they all will make the right decision-:
-Teams being disqualified for inappropriate/unfair reasons (NO TEAMS WERE DISQUALIFIED. I was in the judges room during the judges meeting and have all teh notes from them as well. So that comment is NOT TRUE AT ALL. All teams were given a chance to talk to the judges one on one for any feedback they needed after the competition was over and were explained in detail why they did not placed at our competition. So again THERE WAS NO DISQUALIFICATION FOR ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER.
-General specs of competition being unorganized-:
As far as what I was told by a few teams that I talked to after the competition was over I was under the impression that they were happy with the organization of the competition. I am not going to say we were perfect because in now way we were perfect in any way. We are a fairly new competition as this was only our second year organizing it so we might have made a few mistakes that once the teams write their review we will definately improve those things. I just want to make sure the point does not come across that we were "UNORGANIZED THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND". There is always room from improvement and as an organizer I will appreciate if any team come up and say we were unorganized at certain thing that way we can improve as a committee for next year because that is how competition last for years and years is they improve every year and that is what our goal is as well.
-Judges/Judging (in general)-:
This I feel is a very subjective topic and all people will have a different review of their own on this so I will not comment on any other person's behalf just from my own as an organizer of the competition. As I am sure you and everyone else know that we are a FOLK AND TRADITION COMPETITION. I do not think anyone have access to our judging rubric besides the teams but I want to still throw out a point that in the judging rubric 65 POINT WERE FOR TRADITION ELEMENTS IN YOUR ROUTINE. I understand that there are 100 other competition that are happening every year that are supporting the modern bhangra which I am perfectly fine with because I feel that it is keeping our dance alive and hats off to all the competition organizers for continuing to organize such comps to keep Bhangra alive in every part of the country. The only way our competition is different from my point of view is that we want to bring back traditional bhangra back which does not mean in any way that we expect the teams to dance like the teams in India which I know is not something that is required from any team. We just want to see more traditional elements put into the routine that modern. I know that we are trying something new and new things always gets crtiqued which we welcome as a committee as we are trying to bring back something that we feel is getting lost in Bhangra. I thought we as a committee have made this clear to everyone who knows about the competition and also the teams performing. I apologize if someone else was under a different impession. The only reason I am bringing this up is because I know everyone is excited to watch the teams perform and before you all do that and provide your feedback I would really appreciate if everyone can look at their videos keeping in mind that this was a traditional folk competition and not a modern competition. That should help answer some of the questions that some people might have when it comes to who palced at our competition.
As far as our judges are concerned then I would highly suggest anyone who have a question regarding this to go read their bio on www.motorcitybhangra.net and let me know what they think about the judging panel when it comes to judging a traditional competition. As an organizer I will stand by the decision made by the judges as I fully trust their judgement because of the amount of experience they brought on the table when it comes to judging the traditional elements within the routine.
At the end all I would like to say to conclude this synopsis of mine is that we are a traditional competition and we are proud to be the only traditional competition is the US. Our main motive through this competition is to teach little kids that come to watch our competition the Bhangra that is pure and traditional. I know that may be asking to much but we feel that all the teams that performed at our competition this year have mastered the art of performing at that level and they did which was great to watch because that shows how good and versatile dancers that we have in our country that can evolve themselves so well to perform at any level. We tahnk all the teams for putting up a great show. Whether they placed or not they brought something that kids and audience wil remember for the rest of their lives. Whether taht is live team or music we feel that every team that performed as a traditional teams on stage and that how they were judged. It was very tough to decide the winners as everyone brought something new and all the traditional elements that were required through our judging rubric.
I apologize if I said anything wrong but I just want to make sure all the hard work our committee put into making this show happen do not get misinterpreted because of a couple of comments that were made.

Thank You
Gary Khehra

Just wanted to start off by congratulating Garry & his whole committee for throwing an amazing competition. This is my personal review and not my team Nachdi Jawanis. Our liason was very attentive, anytime we needed something she would get it done asap, shout out to Kimmy for holding that down!! The competition ran much longer then expected, so for the future i'm sure you guys will start the competition earlier because of the whole after party issue and teams not getting there in time.
The only problem I had this weekend was with the mic setup on stage and I heard from other live teams that they had this problem as we'll. First thing is the mic setup was all on the left side, it's not a huge issue but i'm used to playing on the opposite side of the stage, just find it easier to interact with the crowd and the judges, I asked if there was a possibility if we could get mics on the other side and the audio dude on stage just simply said nope, your not going to have mics then, were trying to keep it consistent and on one side which is totally understandable. Another problem is that I felt the dhol mics weren't as loud enough, and I'm not sure if its just me but every competition I've performed at I felt this way. The monitors on stage were awesome, I could hear all the other instruments and vocals on stage. Heard some monitors turned off or something for other teams. Other then that I had a great time at this competition. Congrats again and good luck in the future!!

This has nothing to do with the actual competition or judging since I wasn't there, but it's nice to see the organizer coming out and clarifying things from the get-go. Transparency from an organizer is always a plus. At the same time though, it would benefit you greatly, Gary, to use a spell-checker before posting. Parts of your post read like a rant with so many misspellings and grammar errors. Because you're representing the committee as well as yourself, you might want to ensure that your posts are being interpreted the way you want them to be. Just my two cents from personal experience.

In any case, I'm excited for the videos! It was such a stacked lineup - so bummed I couldn't watch it live :(

Well explained Gary. I do think the OP should refrain from rumor mongering and planting assumptions and blanket statements in people's heads about an otherwise great competition, especially if he did not actually attend the show.

I'm sure MCB will appreciate all suggestions and enact changes that teams and judges recommend so that it continues to get better and better every year!

Gary and mcb staff, you guys were great. So friendly and helpful. Had a great time.

Here are some things I liked
-venue was excellent. Tons of rooms for teams and the afterparty venue was also excellent.
-the hosts were fun, I loved the big uncle, he was hilarious.
-show ran smoothly, and started decently on time.
-gurmit killed it as always.
-location. Town center was clutch. Everything was easy to get to, and close.
-the hotel was so damn amazing, one of the best I have been to for a competition.
-staff and liasons were so nice and were really there for their teams.

Things I did not like
-show was too long. Keep teams to 10. 5 live, 5 music. Show ended at 11:30, that is just killing to the teams and the audience.
-due to the length of the show, the after party was empty, which got crazy.
-due to length of show, the after party was essentially im the hotel hallways and lobby.
-show lacked exciting elements. No real performers or entertaining things to keep the show fresh and fun.
-the rubric. It needs work. It is just not organized well, and leaves too much room for guessing from both the teams and judges.

But again, great job mcb crew! You guys should be proud. Its not easy and a thankless job.

As compared to last year, the venue was a major improvement, lighting for us was on point, liaisons did a much better job communicating and relaying information, and sound system was great. But there were still some things that caused major inconveniences for us as a team.

1.
During practice times after the mixer, our time got pushed back from 10:30 to 11:30, then to 12, and then finally 1:30. As we went to talk to the organizer his reasoning for our time being pushed back was so that another team who didn’t have dancers present needed more time and a bigger room. I was not upset that the team got more time, just the fact that we weren’t told what time we get the room. If a team needs more time, they should get that extra time after every team has had their scheduled time to practice.
2. Tech time began before we even stepped foot on stage. We were told to get on stage without any warning. After we all rushed onto stage and started setting up, the main organizer tried starting casual conversations with some of our dancers. This slowed us down even more because we had to stop and repeatedly tell him to stop distracting us.
3. After coming back from tech time, in the hotel lobby we were greeted by a committee member with food. She informed us that an organizer had told her to “Give the nicer food to outside teams.” She told us this while handing us a tray with half the subs eaten and the other half sloppily thrown around in the container. After some talking, she understood and kindly gave us a fresh tray.
4. This was not an issue during tech time, however right before our performance, seconds before, we were told we weren’t allowed to hold a curtain open. When explaining kindly – while our mix was playing (during the sher) - that this wasn’t and issue during tech time and we had done so earlier, the man replied with “This is bullcrap,’ and he stormed off angrily.
5. After the competition, like many other teams, we were told that the judge meeting was at the hotel. When we got back to the hotel, a few members of CMU informed us that it was back at the venue. This was a major communication issue between the committee.
6. After Party was not properly organized. With the show ending late and the confusion with the judges meeting, not all our teammates were ready with much time left.

The competition definitely improved aesthetically; however, we think it is valid to say that as the home team, we were not respected at the same level as were other teams by organizers. We appreciate the affiliation with Detroit and welcome respective teams to this state with open arms. However, these issues will definitely be taken into account when applying to this competition next year, as it may be more beneficial to apply to places that are more respectful to us as a team. Nonetheless, we have the most loyal and fun fan base and appreciate all the support this weekend.

Our liaison did an amazing job taking care of us. Point 3 was directed towards the committee as a whole. Quick shout out to Neha!

Thank you Arun for your comments. I have said that before as well please do not come on BTF and tell people something that is not true. They deserve better.

Not sure who the comment of sloppy food was directed towards but regardless of who that person is I as the main organizer or just as a human being would never ever say to ANYONE that give them sloppy food because they are home team and good food to others and I know my committee members very well that they will never say anything like this to anyone. If they did please let me know who that person was so I can inquire on this situation.

Regarding practice time after mixer we had 4 practice rooms and in random order the rooms were provided to the teams to practice. We had 2 big rooms and 2 small rooms and you were given one room to practice for half hour and it happened to be a small room. The thing that was brought up to me was that you need the big room to practice and I said OK thats fine. I told you guys to practice in the room that was initially provided to you and once the teams are done practicing on their scheduled time I will give you the room which I did. I even gave you guys all the time to practice in small room plus extended the practice rooms from 1am to 1:30 am just so you guys can get to practice in bigger room which resulted in a charge for our committee by the hotel which I said was fine because you guys got to practice as much as you guys needed.

Now when I come to the tech time situation you were not the only team that the tech time began "when" you stepped on stage and NOT BEFORE and only I know that as I had the stop watch in my hand. And regarding having causal conversations with the dancers I was doing that with all the team including Shan e, NJ, AEG etc. I was just trying to relieve some of you guys stress and also I know you personally as I have shared the same stage with you guys and do not think of you guys anything less than brothers and was probably the most excited out of all people to see your performance and I gave you guys extra time to finish your set as well. Only I know this as I had the stop watch.

Holding the curtain open issue is something that I am unaware off and will bring up to the stage person during our final meeting this Thursday. I am not sure what was said during that time and what triggered that response from the person but will investigate on this issue.

After the placing were announced the MC announced it on stage that the judges meeting was in the green room and most of the teams were there besides a couple of teams who decided to walk off stage as soon as placings were announced because they were upset or did not care what anyone else said afterwards. But I was told that you guys did made it to the judges meeting at the end.

After party was an issue which we take the responsibility for because we had to start the show a little later than expected due to some internal issues. which caused the delay in finishing the show on time. This will not be an issue in any future comps and we will make sure as a committee and apologize for any inconvenience.

Again I would like to bring up that as an organizer and also as a teammate I will never treat you guys with any disrespect. You guys are the home team and have proven to be one of the elite teams and we are proud to have a team like FS to represent Detroit all over.

@Disha-: I apologize for any grammatical mistakes in the previous comment and this comment as well. I hope everyone can still understand the message that we as a committee are trying to push across. We are trying to bring Traditional folk Bhangra back and we will continue our efforts in doing so.

Thanks
Gary

Hey BTF,

Here's my review of MCB this past weekend. This is not on behalf of CMU Bhangra, just my personal opinions on how the competition and weekend went from a captain's standpoint.

It's a little long, so if you want to skip the general schedule of the weekend and go straight to my overall comments, just scroll down.

First off, congratulations to Virsa, Shan-E, and NJ!

Overall, I had a pretty good weekend at MCB. Here's a run-down of the actual schedule/logistics of the weekend.

When we reached, our liaisons came out to greet us, help us to our rooms, and explain the logistics of the evening.
We chilled in the hotel for a little bit, then headed over to the mixer, which started late.

The mixer venue was really nice, and the food was solid. Props to the committee for having fruit at the mixer. We love to see healthy food at competitions. The Indian food was good too.

The mixer games were alright, but seemed to drag on a little bit, even though they were pretty short. The cool part was that the committee paired off teams and had them play the mixer games together (we were with AEG). It was a good way to get teams to interact and meet each other. I also liked that the activities during the mixer were short enough that we could relax and eat, then head back to the hotel to practice.

We were misinformed as to how show order would be chosen. We were told it would be totally random, but ended up being that the order in which teams chose their position in the line-up was random, so when we were picked first, we weren't fully prepared (that worked out for us in the end, though).

Once the mixer ended, we were able to get practice rooms in the hotel, which were essential because we had dancers out of town (cancelled flights) and were scrambling to redo formations. There was a lot of miscommunication with regards to practice rooms and stuff, so it was a little stressful and practices ran late, but we really appreciated having the space.

The next morning, our liaison brought us bagels, and he even got us some extra pastries (which we saved for later), but we had to buy some more bagels because we didn't have enough for all our dancers.

When we got to the venue, we quickly got to our dressing room, which was solid. Tech time was running late, but we didn't mind too much because it gave us some time to warm up a little more.

We were misinformed about tech time. We were told we would have 2 minutes to set up, 1 minute to clean up, and 15 minutes to dance, and only found out that we would have only 15 minutes total when we got on stage, so we weren't able to go over everything that we needed to.

After tech time, we got back to the hotel with plenty of time to rest and get ready for the competition. One of our liaisons brought us Subway and also helped out with random stuff during the day and while we were preparing (got us Got-2-B, stuff like that).

Preparation and performance went well, though the fact that the show started an hour late was irritating, especially since we got back so late. We almost missed the judges' meeting since we were initially under the impression it was at the hotel (I'm pretty sure some teams missed their meetings).

We only got back to the hotel at 1am, so we didn't bother trying to go to the after-party.

My overall review of the weekend is as follows:

Pros:
- Shoutout to one of our liaisons, Hardeep. He helped us out a lot and chilled with us afterward. Our other liaison was around initially but we lost track of her after a point. She still responded to texts though, and helped out when she could.
- Proximity of venue and hotel. The venue was a < 5-minute drive from the hotel, which was really convenient. Also the venue itself was sick.
- Sound on stage was really loud, so we never had an issue during the performance. It did drown out our laalkare, which was a little disappointing because we have a lot in our set.
- Hotel was amazing. The location and the hotel itself were great. Leo's Coney Island (nearby diner) was nice for easy access to food 24-hours.
- Judges - I feel like there's been some positive and negative feedback about the judges, but for CMU, we had a great experience with the judges. When we got into the meeting, they were very friendly and welcoming. They gave us very constructive feedback as to what we did well and could have improved, and answered all our questions.

Cons:
- Judges and MCs mostly speaking Punjabi. At least for the mixer and judges' meeting, it would have been nice for everyone to speak in English, since a large portion of our team does not know Punjabi. I also feel that during the show, it was alienating those of us who didn't speak Punjabi. I'm not sure what make-up of the audience was, but it seemed to be mostly Punjabi, so I guess this was okay.
- Competition started and ended really late.
- Afterparty didn't really happen, especially since the competition ended so late.

Other:

Also, I was a little surprised that the MCB committee allowed multiple teams to switch in different teams from within their organization or academy so last minute. I know that some teams drop out of competitions when they see a line-up in which they don't think they have any shot of placing, so the fact that the line-up kept changing after teams already paid registration fees (and basically couldn't drop) was a little ridiculous. I'm not sure what the circumstances were behind all that, but it was a little unsettling, so if someone from the committee could explain why that was allowed/what happened there, that would be much appreciated. Don't get me wrong; I definitely did enjoy having all the great teams there.

Suggestions:

In addition to a judges' meeting after the mixer, have a Google Hangout with judges (if they're available and willing) a month beforehand. Other competitions have done this (WBBC and Bell), and it's incredibly helpful for giving both the teams and judges a very clear view of the vision and style of the competition. It also helps teams prepare for the competition better, since finding out things the night before doesn't really help. And if the judges can't all fly in on time due to weather or whatever reason, since things always come up, it ensures that teams get to speak to all judges beforehand so they feel more at ease and well-informed.

If anyone has any questions or wants clarification on any of my points, please let me know.

Hey BTF,

As a representative of Virsa: Our Tradition, I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Motor City Bhangra committee for putting on a good show. I know some teams experienced some difficulties and road bumps, but overall, Virsa had a positive experience. Our liaisons (shout out to Kiran and Ramneet, a.k.a. JATT) held it down for us. They catered to our needs and generally were there when we needed them, so no complaints regarding them. The mixer went well, it was great to kick it with the teams that were present. It went smooth and simple, with 2 games and then went directly to determining the show order. one complaint that we had, however, which was similar to that of Furteelay's, was the post-mixer practice situation. We were told that the practice times were allotted according to the show order, but a certain team was given extra time. not only that, some teams were given their practice time out of order. our time was supposed to be at 11:30, but we were pushed to 12:50. in that time, we were given a room, but it was very small. in that situation, we believe that it would have been smarter to have the live teams practice in the smaller room and the music teams in the larger room. live teams were given a room that could fit a 36-man run-through, and some music teams were given a room that could fit only 8. that is one adjustment that we believe would have benefitted everyone's experience. overall it was fine, because the committee arranged for us to use the big room for practice and extended the time from 1:00 to 1:20, which we truly appreciate. The competition ran smoothly, despite the long delay. Unfortunately, one of our dancers experienced a sapp malfunction on stage, where he bumped into a speaker that interfered with our dancing space and ended up dropping his sapp. Gary Khera was there and moved it right away. He spoke to the judges and took responsibility for that malfunction, considering that we asked him to have the speaker removed when we saw it during tech time. He saw to it that it did not affect our rubric score and we truly appreciate that. As mentioned previously, the after party was a flop due to the delayed start of the show. However, coming back to the hotel and chilling with the other teams in the after after party was pleasant and we definitely enjoyed. Overall, Motor City Bhangra was a solid experience for Virsa. This competition meant a lot to us, and having won first place against such a powerful lineup was truly a great feeling. We know all of the teams came with their A-game and a big shoutout to them for putting on a show to remember.

A couple of shout outs to some people that contributed to our success:
- SGPD: thank you Navi Dhillon and Rahul, for letting us borrow your speaker for practice and letting us use some props for tech time and our actual performance. It was great seeing you guys and the whole squad again after a while
- Furteelay: Thank you for letting us borrow your dholi ahah. he was awesome and cooperated well with us. big ups to him
- Shan-E-Punjab: thank you for tying our paggan. you guys came through for us last minute and we truly appreciate it. Congratulations on placing, we know you guys definitely ripped it
- Gary Khera: You were truly awesome. I know some teams had different experiences, but from Virsa, we honestly have the utmost respect for you. You were attentive, respectful and honestly held it down for the competition. As organizers of Big Apple Bhangra (which actually might be making a comeback soon ;) ) we know how difficult it is to handle a competition with its difficulties, and how strenuous it is to deal with a multitude of personalities. You did great.

Overall, we want to say thank you to the Motor City Bhangra committee for having us and allowing us to have an unforgettable experience. You can surely expect Virsa: Our Tradition to come back next year to defend its title :)

Thank You
Gary Khehra

Hey Gary,

This was not directed at one person or the committee itself, so my apologies if I offended you in any way. I misworded what I wanted to say. My point was not that the competition was unorganized or a bad experience for anyone, but to get peoples reviews on how the competition was.

Once again, my apologies if I offended you or anyone else.

Furteelay Shokeen is compelled to re-iterate some of the comments made earlier, and to give defense to the message that is being sent to the Bhangra circuit, fans, the MCB2 committee and organizer. When it comes time the a competition and the home team are in the same playing field, there are bound to be pre-conceived notions about how a team feels despite its placing and/or commentary because of one, human nature, and two, the fine-line between how affiliated the team is with the competition itself. With this in mind, we still felt the need to offer constructive criticism (which, to many people’s disbelief, does not necessarily have a negatively connotation) to the event.

Despite the geographic origin of the team, the freedom to speak of our concerns is inevitable and plausible. As we are sure that professional forums invite diplomacy in the statements and discussions that are worth engagement, nowhere was our critique lacking as a professional answer. If we felt less respected than other teams, we can only apologize if our perception altered us from reality. But our commentary on that experience is not any less real. Moreover, it is possible that our post may have taken away from the positive and very proud moments in our journey in this circuit. Moreover, constructive criticism may be assumed to run parallel to “bitterness” of not winning, however this is not the case.

We are well aware of why we have not placed and are slightly appalled that any future or present commentary has indicated that we do not comply with the placings. We are very, very proud of our peers on Virsa and Shan-E and had the honor to share the stage with them, among other elite teams. It is natural for any team to ponder, however, as we would like to state again: constructive criticism is merely constructive criticism. It is not meant to elicit a reaction that falls short of a professional platform. Your statement that one cannot come on a forum and speak of things that are not true; the entitlement of truth is not given to you just because you are an organizer.

Clearing misconceptions is a better alternative; however, we still stand with the 7 points that were made. Nevertheless, those 7 points of constructive criticism will not, nor do we intend to, take away from the hard work and dedication that you and your committee have put into this show. We are not ignorant to the upgrade and family oriented atmosphere that you created for all our families and fans. Perhaps we can word ourselves differently.

In future circumstances, finding a venue with rooms of equal size may be more helpful for teams that need practicing. As two rooms were smaller, it did become difficult before we were given time. This is a critique on room choice, not a critique on the very nice hotel or on your particular decision making under those circumstances.

Whether casual conversations were made with just us or other teams as well, it should become common ground that during tech time, only the designated captains speak, and timing be tracked. This again is not a critique on how you treat the other teams, nor your choice, rather an alternative way of dealing with tech time.

This did happen, and we will not disclose any names for we do not want to create a bigger situation out of something that we simply found disrespectful.

This is a matter of inconvenience of a staff member at the venue. Shit happens.

A few critiques have also been made regarding how to better the communication avenue, which is parallel to our statement as well.

This statement has also been re-iterated by other critics. A critique of our experience is simply a critique of our experience. Thank you for providing your feedback, considering our points, and we do hope that you no longer feel compelled to make a subliminal Facebook status that disturbs your integrity as an organizer and our affiliation with you.
Perhaps speaking about the positives would give a clearer indication of the excellent qualities of MCB2 that were appreciated by the team:
 • The mixer venue was very nice; teams were clearly enjoying their time. Food was great, and we did have a great time mingling and destressing, as all teams should.
 • Liaisons were GREAT this year. Yes we do know some of them personally; however, they were very professional, involved in their teams, and energetic. Neha: we personally want to thank you again for the time and energy that you brought into our weekend. We also want to thank other liaisons that wished us good luck and sent good vibes.
 • Hotel was very nice as well. It was very nice to see that no detrimental instances occurred this year, and that is definitely a huge success for the committee and the organizer.
 • Teams have overall said great things about the competition and reception by the committee.
 • The Venue for the show, and the place to get ready was great. The space was IDEAL. It was wonderful to see such elite teams be in the same vicinity and the competitive/stressful moments before competing where shared by everyone. It was a great atmosphere.
 • Locations of the venue, mixer, and hotel were not too far away from one another. Good choice and great representation of the Michigan area.
For us, competing is about meeting members of the community who are just as passionate, if not more, about Bhangra. It is about moments with fans and our families that see the dedication we put into what is executed on stage. It is about appreciating what other competitors bring to this circuit. We know where we come from and know how much room there is to improve. With deep consideration, we hope we have provided a better statement that aligns to our intention for the benefit of the community response, the organizer, and ourselves as members of this community. We take it as a privilege to perform and be considered a competitor.

Deep down, aren't we all winners since we're in good enough fortune to compete at competitions like this and express a passion that has brought us all closer together?

That's what it's about in the end. Not about who wins or loses or who ties for third or who isn't folk enough and who is too folk and whether or not committee organizers should be speaking to members of teams while in the middle of their tech time or who gets sloppy subs for lunch the day of the show.
It's not about any of that. It's about happiness and that's what counts :D ;D 8) :) ;)

I ,for one, am just thankful to have competed in such an impressive lineup and got to perform in front of friends, family, and loyal supporters. Thank you bhangra community and thank you Gary for bringing bhangra back to the D.
