You guys have improved so much over the years and I would say that this was rather enjoyable to watch. I do have some critiques for y'all that I think can take you guys to the next level.

1. Your saap segment was hot, but your ending was not impactful for me. You always want to leave a great first and last impression in your set. I didn't feel the energy from your ending whatsoever. It almost made me forget about all the great moments in your set. You guys were in Windows for way too long. The ending choreo was just very bland in my opinion.

2. You have some dancers on your team with a lot of potential. Form overall was good, but you guys need to pick up your legs whether it is doing downs in pataka or doing ups in dhamaal. Your legs should be parallel to your waist.

3. In my opinion great dancers always dance wide and pick up their legs regardless of the move. Your team needs to dance wider. That means for your dancers to be lower to the ground with their legs spread out.

4. Being on AEG I have always been a fan of gimmicks. However, for gimmicks to truly hit hard, they should compliment your dancing. There were gimmicks that had too long of a pause. If a pause is to be implemented, it needs to be a gimmick that makes me say holy shit. I didn't get that feel from your gimmicks.

5. Half of your dancers had great nahkra while the other half appeared to be just dancing to finish their moves. If all of you guys were on the same level for nahkra, y'all would leave a greater impact.

Overall, I did enjoy this performance and this is a huge improvement. I cant wait to see what else you boys have in store for the circuit. My kudos to you guys seriously.

you guys did an awesome job. i thought you stayed very clean, executed as a team, but brought alot of energy and enthusiasm as well.

if i had a main critique, it would be like howie said, i think despite how good everyone's energy is, you all tend to dance a little more "narrow" - your posture is good but your legs aren't as wide. i believe I noticed this with bass as well - great dancing but you guys have alot of energy and look like you have alot of tall/broad guys, and you'd look alot "bigger" and more powerful as a team when you "widen" up a bit. this has to do with your lower body, not upper body. for upper body, just get that chest involved with those shoulders too :)

otherwise, huge fan of this team, and really hope you can figure out the logistics to come to a competition here in the US (or Canada) very soon, bc you'd kill it. Bruin Bhangra should get you guys to come this year!!!

MOB won 1st Place at this competition and was probably the most humble team that walked into the post-comp feedback room. They're eager to improve so they can compete at even bigger competitions around the world (Literally--comps around the world  Bhangra has to come this, how awesome is that?!)

Please take a few moments to write up what you liked about their performance and any advice for improvement! Karma to Howie and Sumeet for doing so. I'm sure there are readers who may feel shy about what to comment (on this or any other video), but you don't have to give an in-depth bhangra nerd analysis. Even little observations like, "That khunda trick really took me by surprise!", are appreciated by all teams :)

Overall, I enjoyed the performance because 1) you guys remained in control of your set and executed it well, and 2) I got a sense of your team identity. Highlight for me was how well you all dance together as a team; it put a smile on my face!

I agree with the general critiques that Howie gave. Here are a few detail-oriented thoughts (time stamps from The Bhangra Hub's video)

Sapps
  • Choreo was simple, but the formations breathed life into it. The "curtains opening" formation at 1:40 definitely elevated the subsequent hitter choreo. However, I saw this same concept used in your khundey (3:01, 3:06) and outro (7:08) segments. It started to lose its impact for me.
  • 1:11. This 8 count transition to the diagonal looked strange. Because few people were noticeably travelling during each 4 count and the start/end shapes were similar, it led me to think that people just forgot their spots. I think it would have looked cleaner if both sides collapsed into the diagonal at the same time.
Khundey
  • 3:10 Choreo didn't compliment the "swooshes" in the mix. Khundey and dancers weren't flying across the stage enough to give me that "whizzing by" sort of feeling.
  • 3:40 Jugni chaal would have hit so much harder if the team got lower as a whole.
Jhummar
  • I liked how you guys faked finishing your soft jhummar segment and then went back into hard jhummar. Caught me by surprise!
  • Soft jhummar's execution was choppy for me. Taking more time to fill the space between counts would help.
  • The energy for the transition at 5:23 was off the charts, but the dip in energy/legs/extensions for hard jhummar was disappointing. If you guys had conserved energy for that transition and then went HAM for hard jhummar, I would have been blown away.
And a couple points about the team's dance form:
  • Slouching. From the side, I could see a number of dancers slouching in their upper bodies. Dancing with the chest muscles stretched wide will give the team more power.
  • Heavy footwork. I didn't see a lot of bounce to the footwork; it appeared like some dancers were consistently landing flat footed. Dancing higher up on the balls of the feet will give the team a sense of effortlessness.
---

And thanks, Mariam, for encouraging open discussion. I'm likewise interested in improving my own feedback; please ask away if there are other opinions/clarifications you MOB fellas would like to hear from me.

I throughly enjoy the ferocity MOB dances with it. Stage presence seems natural to you guys for the most part. I thought the choreo was great but not jaw dropping. A positive aspect is that the energy level matched the moves that you were doing, if you get what I mean. Overall the energy and stage presence made me keep watching the performance. Set also had great flow. The ending needed something more. The formations were simple, and moves again were not jaw dropping. Adding complex formations at the end would of left me with a better impression. Hopefully my ramblings make a positive impact on your team. Keep up the good work mates, and aim for continuous improvement.

P.S. Come to the States for a comp
