Hi mob, I really liked this set. Whoever picked rani sundran... +1, that made me smile, and baandar during cheerey waliya was beautiful. Criminal Mind and HSM did work. The choreo/ideas/formations are all there, the biggest thing you guys need to work on is building your dancers. You're only as strong as your weakest dancer, and there's a clear divide (especially later in the set) about who's relatively stronger, which is what i think held you back the most. As far as critiques go, from top to bottom, I feel like footwork can be crisper, esp when you guys do jandhusingh footwork with khunde/sapps. Another thing I'd be careful of is how you orient yourself when doing certain difficult moves. The khunde exit/drop idea was a dope concept, but the way you lines oriented laterally, you could see very clear back-bending from the folk doing baitkha. Obviously, the solution is to fix your form on baitkha, but if you had oriented that diagonally as opposed to laterally, the back-bending wouldn't have been as noticeable....just a random thought, take it as you wish. You guys have gotten soooo much better since I saw you at PCS 2012. Best Luck!

Very very impressed guys - by far my favorite set of yours. Interesting choreo and conceptual ideas, and I always appreciate creative ways to put away props.

A bit surprised this didn't place, but I'd guess for two main reasons:

1. As mentioned above - chadran. No doubt that 3 bad chadran are going to lose you some valuable points on the rubric.

2. Not sure if the Burgh rubric changed much this year, but being that's it a fairly traditional comp, I thought there was too many English songs in this routine that may have hurt you in the traditionality category.

Overall, solid routine and enjoyed watching this. Keep doing you guys and hope to see you later this spring.

Unfortunately I was backstage at BIB during this performance so I didn't get to see it live, but right afterwards I heard great things from everyone I talked to. Watching now, you guys definitely didn't disappoint.

I appreciated a lot of the variations you put on different moves, thought pink guy (with the dope dhari) murdered jhoomar, and I actually thought the girls outperformed the guys so big props ladies.

Look to improve saaping. Very few people on the team looked fluid while saaping, definitely suggest working on that as a team to not make it look so forced. Pace of the set seemed a bit slow throughout. Mix didn't complement your best moments well enough, for me. Lots of creative ideas that could have been milked a little bit more with better mix/lighting/general theatricality. Movements became very small towards the end, I assume due to stamina. Upping stamina a bit would go a long way. Obviously chaadren have already been mentioned, but I could actually see a Nike logo on someones shorts. That's just no good haha.

Overall I really enjoyed the set and your performance. Adding a little more nakhra/swag would take the set to the next level though. Glad to see you guys won PCS and congrats on a good start to your season!

p.s.- all critiques are from the BIB video

I've always been a MOB fan! Congrats on First! It's been a long time coming

Pros:

- Song selection was great.
- You guys dance very well together and it looks like there is a lot of comfort and cohesion amongst everyone.
- Choreography is very interesting. And formations were great.

Improvement:

I think the biggest part where you can improve, is actually going for it on steps.

It doesn’t seem like you guys are going as hard as you can, and I get that you want to do it for team unity/cleanliness. I won’t say go buck and sacrifice that. But for you guys to take the next step, I think that’s what’s necessary. And you should push all 12 to do so.

I was left wanting way more at parts which could have hit way way harder. (not saying it didn't hit, but there's SO MUCH potential for more) One example was khunde chaal. Every step in that sequence could have been done with more strength while maintaining your grace and it woulda been goosebump level.

Hope this makes sense! PM me if you want more specifics!

Best of luck with the rest of the season!

Massive improvements MOB! Been watching your team for a while now and you all have tremendously improved. However, there is always room for more. Like mentioned about, work on jandhusingh. If one dancer can't do it then work with them to get it down properly otherwise change the move. I understand that that move has become a norm in every saap segment, but its okay if you dont do it for the sake of being in uniformity. Next, your choreo is clean, but didn't hit as hard. For example, at 2:22 (BIB Video) that move could have had a bigger impact if it was done harder or with more energy. Also, throughout the routine, I felt that the dancers in the back didn't have the same energy as the ones in the front. I am all for showing nakhra and going "ham," but if one or two people go ham then the rest of the team or the person next to you looks dead. Watch your energy levels. Also in jugni, please get low even if you are the people in the back, don't stand and do jugni. Bounce your modhe during chall. I understand you guys might have wanted to lean more so on the graceful side, however it made some of you look dead. You can still be graceful with picking up your legs and extending, dancing wide.

Hopefully this help, if you have any questions or want specifics just PM me! :)
