What's up guys,

Firstly, a big congratulations to all the teams that participated this past weekend and big ups to our fellow Sydney boys BASS for taking 2nd and our Melb fam MBR for taking 3rd as well as the whole BDU committee for organising an entertaining competition and fun-filled few nights.

Here is our video from the weekend at Melbourne, with our performance that took out 1st place. As always, we are open to any constructive criticism that will help us better our bhangra and help us take it to the next level :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNeBDZMn-Jg

We just want to apologise for the beginning, there were some issues with the speakers and we couldn't hear the mix, hence the chant being off-beat and putting some of the boys off for the starting. Also wanna apologise for the pagga, there were some mishaps backstage and we ran out of time to get them fixed up.

This couldn't have been possible without Prem, Harind and Harsharn from GCC who made us such an enjoyable mix to dance to, and we also want to thank them for their patience in bearing with our constant song/idea changes.

The team is as follows -

Hot Pink: Karan Multani & Prashant Sallan
Blue: Tanu Singh & Prince Buttar
Light Blue: Abhi Bhogal & Simran Randhawa
Red: Justin Multani & Harsharn Singh
Yellow: Angad Bhangu & Ayush Kapila
Green: Aman Dhanju & Harjyot Deogun
Black: Avtar Bansal & Hardeep Chohan
Purple: Simran Singh & Rustam Sandhu

Dholi: Rej Singh
Chimta: Roberto Grewal

I wanna give props to Simran Singh, Angad, Aman and Harjyot for whom this was their first competitive performance and to Prince for dancing through a torn ligament in his foot from the week prior. Slyly just want to make a note of the fact that the oldest boy in this squad is 26 and the youngest is 13 lol

So, please enjoy the video and once again leave us any comment that you think will help us on our bhangra journey!

EDIT: THE OFFICIAL GTV VIDEO is now live at this link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcaOoGiZOXg

please watch and give us your thoughts :)

Hi mate, well done for 1st place! 2 wins in a row and your team must be proud!

I would like to add some personal feedback which may or may not help you :p

1. I think certain points in the set where there were props being dropped, (example during the saap segment, one of the orange jodis seem to drop the saap on the side. Also during the khunda segment when the blue dancer dropped the khunda during a twirl) would have been better if it was not included. I would make a segment, even tho trying to be as creative as possible, try to make it as clean and in sync even if it is not that complex if you get what I mean, It takes so many run throughs to make sure you can pull off a complex move but sometimes it doesnt work on the day. That may have taken points away from your score.

2. Youve mentioned the Paghs so im not going to go into that :) but i think chadrah could have been slightly better :)

3. I think what your team needs to work on next is dancing in sync and making sure every dancer knows what the style of the team is. And making sure every dancer keeps up the energy right till in the end while still executing the moves fully.

However you guys have done an amazing job of making the Aussie Bhangra scene shoot up so im very happy with that! I really am following all the teams and hope at your guys' next comp, your whole team steps up even more!

PS please release the mix soon, Im a sucker for GCC made mixes :p

Literally no idea how you guys won, the sapps started off beat, your red jodi fell, the energy was ok, everyone dances different, one guy dropped a daang, green guy was doing something completely different during tere tille toh, jhoomer was not in sync, i could keep going, i just really want to know how this placed first.

I wasn't there to hear the judges comments, but from what my team mates told me, the team that placed second had deductions made for a variety of reasons which I'm not at liberty to disclose without their consent.

As a team that had 5 new members making their debut for this particular performance, we knew it was a risk going in and that there was bound to be a large gap in the skill level of all performers.

Regardless, we have taken on board the things you've mentioned and are actively working to improve on those issues we're having.

Thanks for your input :)

deductions larger than all the mishaps you guys had? New dancers explains the mistakes but doesnt justify the placings honestly. I hope you guys do improve.
