i think this was the competition that he won..

Maddd old video!

Mitch Hyare & Rayman Bhuller tied for 1st place in that "World's Best Dholi Competition" a long while back.

I *believe* both dholi's were trained by Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti at one point or another.

Rayman teaches at Dhol Nation Academy (Surrey, BC). He's also the dholi for SIAC.

Mitch is part of "Lethal Dholis" and has toured with a lot of big artists/producers in both the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. (such as RDB, Manak-E, etc).

Hope that helps,

~ Basim

YOu can't say one is better than another....Yeah Jolly is good comin from India where his dad and entire family play dhol because its a requirement for living....Jolly's dad is a legend.....but if you look at it Mitch has gotten a lot further than most Dholi's....he is probably the most popular dholi in N.A. along with Raju Johal, and Raju B (Cali)

I wouldn't base Mitch's talent on this video....the guy can do some insane stuff in his own way...

I actually got a chance to meet Mitch and Manj from RDB when they came to ATL a while back and they were both mad chill. I know Mitch is the most known because he really tried hard to make a name for himself with the custom painted dhol and all and of course he is just real good. I mean I have seen him live several times and he just does wild stuff like play behind his back and laying down and and alot of other stuff. But he just brings another element to the show. When people first toured it was like either you bring a DJ or the whole band with you. So RDB just said hey we can bring the DJ and the band and brought Mitch. Now he plays for events all over the world. I don't think it makes him anymore modern because he wears a t-shirt and plays around on stage its just that he likes to perform. I'm sure if wanted to play like a mad traditional set he could. Either way he just has his own style which I think sets him apart from other dholis.
