MLIB Prize Money

This is getting a little ridiculous, we've made multiple attempts to contact Armaan and other members of the MLIB committee and haven't gotten anything in response. It's been nearly 8 months since this competition and nearly 6 months since we heard anything from anyone on the committee. I think Furteelay, VT and UVA deserve explanations as to why over $2000 in prize money haven't been paid out yet.

The furteelay boys and I approached Armaan this weekend... I was actually surprised to see him there. I thought Northeastern Bhangra would first worry about getting the money to pay for their competition rather than pay to compete.

But Armaan told us he has received confirmation that all teams should have their money by December 20th at the very latest. He even told us he emailed us a few months ago explaining all this.

...The Furteelay email account had not received any word from MLIB when we checked the next morning in regards to the prize money. We asked Armaan to resend the email that night just in case it was deleted by mistake and that hasn't happened either.

Also, apparently, the grand prize for first place was $500 , $300 for 2nd place , and $200 for third place. Don't know how or when the prize money changed , but this is everything I was told.

This is all. Just have to keep waiting at this point. Not sure what else to do besides contact the school itself.

Sounds like he pocketed the money. You guys met the kid too...you should've gotten your money from him right there.

^ Exactly. Armaan put the money in his jean pocket, he then kept that money in his pocket with him for the past 7-8 months. So yeah sahil you and the rest of furteelay should have just said "HEY ARMAAN, take the money out of that pocket and give it to us, because we know you have been walking around the street with couple of grand that you owe to the placing teams at mlib in your pocket." yes.


anyways, this kind of thing sucks especially when the organizer is avoiding everyone why not just come out right after the comp and say hey i fd up school wont give money, or something like that. Being left in the dark is fd up. sorry that this happened to all of you, and i hope it all gets cleared up asap!
