Hello Everyone,

My Name is Hardeep Singh Sahota I have been Dancing for 24 years and judging for last 6 years in North American. First of all we all need to understand winning and loosing is part of the comps. When ever someone judge a Bhangra team they have reason for placing.I didn't wanted to post all the teams here but lot of people have been sending me the links that teams have been little disappointed.

Here We go Team By Team with Numbers and mistakes

Live Category

1. SPD (Score 75)

They have show cased Bhangra from 1953 to 2016 in variation ( Excellent Set) Minnor Mistake Red Jodi one guy off jumped at last. (boliyan perfectly done & Dhol one one error while changing into next move)
Time they Danced 10.02 approx. (overall team danced together on stage with coordination and expression)

2.Jawani Warriors (Score 74)

Over all Nj did a good job but there were some parts in set where SPD took Over. Algoozay was off. Minor mistakes in formation. Minor Mistake with Boliyan. There were some of the where could have pulled out more with lifting there legs bit higher. Mela in the middle dropped the set base.
Time Nj Danced 9.21 Approx.
Mela Time 6.19
(some of the Dancers need to be more coordinated)

First Class Bhangra (Score 50)

They Danced First time live and the team already know the mistakes. Dhol was very low according to the dancers. Chal legs were not in right position. Singer was singing a boliyan in low tone. All the boliyan was in same format no up or downs. Dhamal Circles off - Phumniyan need to folk as its done by past. - Kabtoor Chaal need to be done properly.

They Danced 10.19
Over all team set base was very low.

Music Category

1. NSG (Score 64)

Over all Team Danced good together set base was higher and energetic.. The only Mistake was yellow Jodi one Guy didn't danced at same level at other at one or two formation.

2. Almo City (Score 60)

Over all team danced together But the set base lower than NSG. one mistake was Red Jodi Guy was tired at the End. CLEAN SET.

3. Dcbc Girls (Score 55)

Over all they danced well but the on stage they had few mistakes. Green jodi girl was off in line after sikke. sky-blue jodi girl was little off in jhommer. Green jodi girl slipped and touched the floor. Phumniyan formation could have more better. Chaffa need to be improved. Pink jodi one girl was little off.

4. MBT (Score 55)

Over all they worked hard and set was good to. But there were minor mistakes!! Red jodi guy was dancing off at some of the moves. There was very less shoulder movement.. Green jodi boy turban was coming off and his bhangra went down.( IN JUDGES MEETING I WAS ASKING HOW YOU TIE YOUR TURBAN)
THERE WAS REASON THAT WE TELL YOU HOW IT CAN BE IMPROVED AND IT WON'T HAPPEN NEXT TIME.

5 Soormay (Score 54)
overall Soormay performance was good.. The Music was fast and some of the dancer couldn't pull it out and some of the formation was off. spins were off. Shoulder movement was missing. Khunde and sikke segment was little messy. Green jodi one guy was off. Black jodi one guy low energy. some of the dancers foot work was not matching with other team dancer Mirza on tumbiya didn't appeal it much on stage.

6. RVD (Score 52)

They have improved a lot than last year they worked hard and show cased good segment. But there set base was little lower than others. Red jodi one guy was dancing little off. Chaats need to be fixed. Yellow jodi guy was off in squads (Bathkan) blue jodi Dancer was off at some point. orange dancer was off as well. Dhol made everyone off at mirza. there was some of the segments where they need to work more and put things according to set base. some formations were off.

7. Shanne girls ( score 51)

They worked Hard Mandeep and pinda talked to right on stage and agreed that team was lower than other teams over all they worked hard. So more likely they set base was lower than others and some of the dancers little off while dancing. But they were clean in formations.

8. DCMPA (Score 51)

They danced well on stage but more like it was exhibition performance for me. all the segment they have put together was really slow. They were 16 dancers all together and they were bumping in to each other when ever they cross in formations.
Shoulders were missing even in slow segments where you have to only work with your smile and shoulders. ONE OF THE JUSGES SAID DCMPA SET WAS TO FOLK BUT I THINK FEW PEOPLE TOOK IT TO WRONG DIRECTION.

THE MEANING WAS OF TO FOLK IS.. YOU GUYS MADE YOUR SET TO SLOW ACCORDING TO OTHER TEAMS YOU COULD HAVE USE THE SAME SET BY MAKING YOUR MIX LITTLE FASTER AND COMBINE YOUR SEGMENTS PROPERLY.

I DID NOT WANTED TO POST THIS RESULTS BUT I HAD NO CHOICE AFTER READING BUNCH OF THINGS HERE I DO NOT BELIVE IN MAKING PEOPLE WAIT AND FEEL DISAPPOINTED.

GARRY DID NOT HAVE MUCH TIME HE SAID HE'S GONNA GIVE EACH TEAM 5 MINS. THAT'S HIS CONCERN. HE IS THE ORGANIZER.

I KNOW MOST TO DANCERS AND DRUMMERS IN TEAMS. IF ANYONE HAVE ANY QUESTION OR CONCERN FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AT 604-771-2301.

please do not take it to wrong direction.. I'm here to answer your questions.

Also here is the review from some of the teams from last year. please take your time out and read it.

It's MBT not MTB. Besides that, was this the score that was agreed upon by all four of the judges? Or this was just your breakdown.

First of all its not "Nacht Jawani" it's "Nachdi Jawani". Secondly, the team that competed @ mcb was "Jawani Warriors" not Nachdi Jawani or Nachdi Jawani Warriors. Nachdi Jawani is the senior team and has different set of dancers than Jawani Warriors. So please use the name that was registered at the competition. Thank you

Been to plenty of comps where the feedback and critiques were so awal that they really would try to explain why funions bhangra did a better job collectively dancing like papads on stage than a team who had a great set with some weaker dancers.

Appreciate the dance. Placings were fair.
Coed teams zindabad.

Judging was accurate. I talked to one of the judges on the phone and we discussed about Live teams in this competition. We did not go into music teams. (Go LIVE, Traditional Bhangra Zindabaad lol) He mentioned all the points above for live teams. Personally, I think NJ and Shaan punjab dee would have been a tie if NJ's Band was more in sync.

Could you elaborate on what wasn't in sync with the band?

The algoje were tuned to C because the singer sang on C, that's not a valid point as to why we lost because last time i checked the other team's chimta guy's turla came out and no points were docked, 2 dancers went off beat but that was considered a minor mistake but the algoje being off sur when they were in sur was a reason as to why points were docked? LMFAO at this rate live teams might as we'll get their band stuff pre recorded and go on stage if turle coming out don't matter. Taking nothing away from SPD they did an amazing performance and if the judges think they deserve to win that's perfectly fine with me, but be able to justify why the other team lost properly. Im not talking about Hardeep, we talked and he explained he didn't take points off for the algoje but it was just something he noticed. If everyone wants to get all technical about the band re listen to the other teams bands as we'll and tell me if the tumbi is in the same key as the singer. Once again I'm not taking shots at the SPD, I'm cool with some of the guys so don't get it twisted.

Dude, you sound salty AF. The only justification needed is the crowds reaction. You guys killed it as well, but the "other team" (Shaan Punjab Dee) had the better performance that night.

Im being salty for putting out facts? Like i said I'm not taking nothing away from SPD they killed it but the judges should be able to justify why a team lost at the time of the competition. Ps I'm not the only one that had this issue a lot of other teams did as we'll. Im just going to leave it at that.
