Just want to give a HUGE shout-out to BU Bhangra. As a BU Bhangra Alum I could not be more proud of this new and young team. Starting the season off right and going to surprise many this upcoming season. Great work and props to the other teams!

Congrats to UB and BU Bhangra, we had a great time at the comp and the afterparty. Didn't get to see either of your performances unfortunately ): but from what I've heard you guys were fantastic. Also, good to see Steel City, Binghamton, Geneseo, and Rice Bhangra there as well, good to have such solid Bhangra representation at this comp.

Our team has not placed in almost ten years, man its a good feeling. BU and Rochester were awesome though. Well deserved.

Thanks man! I think everyone really worked hard to make this show one of the best Muqabla's yet! Money said, it's been a while since UB has placed at Muqabla. It's been a tough year so far, but we'll keep pulling through.


BU and Rochester definitely killed it last night. Well done guys! (The Mixer and Afterparty were bumpin' too!)

Congrats to all the ranking teams!


I was surprised that neither fusion nor raas teams ranked. Last year (and I think the year before as well) there were two bhangra teams and one fusion/raas team in the ranking.

Yeah..Daman..completely find it annoying how such great Raas and fusion teams come out and they don't even get ranked..almost like they came out for no reason!! Carnegie Melon did very well in my opinion.

As has happened the past few years, the original ranking system of a winner in each category then an overall winner was dropped due to lack of teams besides bhangra. However, I completely agree, its not okay to have bhangra teams dominating the rankings year after year, but there were five judges with three being trained in areas other than bhangra.

With the dominance of bhangra, it should just be a bhangra competition.
