I'm so mad I missed this performance. Nypd sets have always been fire, but since the fusion 2010 performance there was usually something which you could pinpoint as the reason why you didn't get first place. In regards to this routine, I have no idea why this didn't get first. Choreo was next level, mix was next level, formations were next level, gimmicks were amazing, energy was definitely not lacking, and form was without parallel. I definitely understand how much it sucks when you put so much work and thought into a set only to have it fall short of your expectations. Also, for people who might look down on them for being disappointed with second place, when you compete at an elite level, anything short of first will be disappointing. there's a reason why anything short of a super bowl win is a bad season for the patriots while it's a big victory if the browns even make the playoffs. Hold your heads high and the rest of us will hope for a comeback.

Also the fat guy in pink should've kept his promise to retire from bhangra years ago.

I don't think anyone is necessarily looking down on the fact that NYPD was disappointed with 2nd place. As you explained, it makes sense why they would be. I think it's that nearly the whole team walked off stage before 1st place was announced.

Every team is disappointed when they dont place or place 1st, but that doesnt mean the team has the right to just walk off stage because "they are mad because they didnt place first".

I think its disrespectful to everyone stage, the audience, and the committee who go through hell to host competitions for everyone.

Best NYPD set since Fusion 2010. The formations were on point! Execution was amazing and choreography was creative and unique. That helicopter bethke was sick! That being said, the gimmicks were a bit dated to me - especially the light up khundey. I thought that phase was done two years ago. The pyramid was well executed and stunning as usual, but I'm not sure how I feel about reusing a two year old stunt.

The pyramid may be 2 years old, but it's become a signature stunt for them. A lot of teams use signature moves/gimmicks/stunts in their sets, and I can see how it might get boring- if a team goes to like 4 comps a year and continues to use it.. But since NYPD doesn't go to many comps, I think it's a good tactic and also a treat to fans who are looking forward to seeing signature moves from certain teams. Plus, they put an unexpected twist to it so I think overall it worked in their favour.

I agree that some gimmicks didn't hit as hard as they should have but the crowd seemed surprisingly quiet/dead for some reason. It's a shame because it was such a hype set and in my personal opinion, I think that the crowd reaction definitely has an impact on judging, not to mention a major buzzkill for the team

From an audience perspective, the crowd was actually pretty hype for NYPD. It was closer to the end of the show, but I don't think the crowd was dead at all and I don't think the crowd response really affected judging all that much. In fact, I thought the sound was pretty shitty at the venue and was told that too much crowd noise was actually interfering with the judge's ability to hear the mixes.

Either way, congrats on a very entertaining performance. I've never watched NYPD live before and getting the chance to compete against them and watch them was definitely a dope experience. Energy and creativity were absolutely nuts.

Congrats NYPD! Performance was on point. I actually enjoyed all gimmicks and thought they were well executed. The sabers in the air pose gave me chills for a sec there. Brightest most theatrically accurate Lightsabers yet! And the pyramid had that brilliant variation! (Manrose, u killed it)! I really hope this isn't the end of music for y'all. The scene will miss you and your distinct style. At the end of the day, you made your niche and mastered it. I'll miss the hype, hectic segments, the dope ass mixes, unique as f song selection, and creative flairs on nearly every move esp martial style moves and beat drops. Also feel the whole slide gracefully on one heel thing had even more potential. Congrats and I seriously hope this isn't the end. Also how'd you get lazy old GARFIELD to get off the couch and learn the set in 2 days!?

NYPD has always been a team to watch out for. This set was fantastic as usual, had all the factors of a fun and entertaining set. The only thing that it lacked, for me anyway as I was watching this live, was consistent energy among all 16 dancers as well as cleanliness in formations. Anyway, congratulations on the placing, the circuit will miss you!

Definitely the first-place set of the night in my opinion, but you probably lost because of that fat guy in the pink. Regardless, great set, great execution, definitely gonna miss watching your performances.

From the team's perspective they had every right to leave the stage in that moment. It's clear how much effort they put into this set and its execution and to fall short in their last performance as a team had to have been crushing - why should they care who won first? It's an irrelevant detail at that point and walking out before hearing something that's only going to make the experience more painful is perfectly understandable.

There's no rule that says you have to sit there and smile and clap for another team, especially when you feel so strongly against it. Yeah, its not great sportsmanship, but whatever, as long as they didn't throw a tantrum on stage I think we should be understanding enough to allow them an immediate emotional reaction before writing them off as disrespectful.

I see what you're saying and I get the gut reaction to be pissed off.

I think more than it being disrespectful, it was just uncomfortable. When they called NYPD, everyone looked at them and clapped and they just didn't move at all. It got real awkward real quick on that stage when no one walked up to the organizer to get the trophy for like 20 seconds. It was just a weird ending to an otherwise very well-run show.

Great performance guys!!! The creativity that was embedded in your moves was nuts. It's not easy to do that now days haha.

My favorite segments from this performance were Saaps and Nakhre Bin. The guy in red. I think Nav? You my friend are such a sick dancer!

The circuit will miss you guys. Going back down the memory lane I remember watching you guys for the first time at Fusion and it had a lasting impact on me. Beginning with Harman's amazing mixing talent, your uniforms, and choreo it was an unforgettable experience. I love the folk-hop flavor you guys brought every time. Thank you for giving us some of the best performances the circuit has seen!

Ohh and I agree with Mrchicity about the pink guy :p
