Hey guys this is our second place performance from Motor City Bhangra this past weekend. We have a lot of people to thank this past weekend. Firstly, thank you to Jagga and Sunny from RVD for letting us borrow a black pagg, and KPGD for letting us use a Shikka after we broke ours in tech time. Much love to you guys for helping us out. Another big shout out to Jagmeet Saini for playing dhol with us and absolutely killing it. As always, big thank you to DJ HsD for making the mix last minute and smashing it.

Shout out to all the teams for the amazing performances this weekend. Congrats to Furteelay and KPGD to their respective placings.

We would love to hear your comments and feedback.

In my personal opinion, this is the best Nachdi Jawani music set from this 2017-2018 season. I really do enjoy the choreography variations and the fast paced props segments. I think for a 16 man set, this has been the cleanest execution of formations that I have seen all season. I was able to see almost every formation that was created from the video above so big props to y'all for that. I believe the reason why this came second to Furteelay Shokeen is because the rubric strongly emphasizes execution over set design. When comparing this set to Furteelay's set at MCB this set is more entertaining to watch, but the issue comes down to the level of dancers executing from 1-16. The level of execution from the Furteelay dancers was stronger than the level of execution from the NJ dancers. Although I have always loved Nachdi's fast pace sets, this also appears to be the root of the problem at times for the execution factor. This whole entire set all got high fast paced and energetic choreography that not 1-16 was able to completely keep up with. The choreography needs to match the ability to execute the set in order for a complex set to truly hit. I think you guys should tone down the choreography just a tad in order to hit those full points on execution for the rubric. Variation in pace keeps me personally more engaged in the set as well. Sometimes executing a slow and powerful Bhangra segment has the same effect if not more of an effect as a high energy fast paced segment. Great job once again guys as this 2017-2018 season the Nachdi Jawani Academies have continued to consistently place and win at almost all major competitions.

The double pull back before dropping into chaal during the khunda seg was fire. Have to give credit for doing an entertaining kato segment which is difficult enough as it is. Dhamaal, jugni were fun as well. Shikke and khunde won it for me as soon as I watched it, a lot of nice variations throughout and I think across the board each dancer brought some heat. Had you guys first by a few points. Furteelay NJFL SPD and Soorme from last year are still by far the best sets in the last 2 years, light years above the rest, keep up the good work!

Hey Howie, thank you for your feedback, however, I don't feel execution was lacking through the 1-16 dancers at all compared to Furteelay. This is not a knock on Furteelay whatsoever because they executed at a very high level too, it's just not a differentiating factor for me because the execution was on par throughout.

What's the song used for sharara? (6:14 - 6:33)
Kudi Kabootar Wargi - Kuldeep Manak

Although I though Furteelay had a tremendous performance with very high level execution, I thought NJFL had strongest routine (set design) and execution of the night. This set was a lot faster and had a lot more baithkan + jumps (I did not count btw, just eye test). This is a important factor for consideration because despite having a tougher routine, the execution was still consistent and high-level (while going 16). I definitely see this as a 1st place routine, but very close with Furteelay. Overall it's great that we can discuss two great performances being very close for first (loved both sets a lot).

Segment @ 6:00 was fire
Thank you for the love, and yes I agree two really good deserving performances.

Haven't seen anyone besides furteelay and Nj but,
I thought this set was first place, in terms of difficulty, Energy, Choreo, Flow, Everything was mostly on Point from the video
Tbh I think the only reason this got second is from the overcrowdedness on stage, there could be no other way
14-16 is too much for that stage, not even full arm's length between dancer in some formations, and gaps was a disadvantage.
It gives the illusion that execution is lacking and messy to the judges when it actually really is just a small stage to execute in.
Good Job, Props to the coaches.

Want to start off by saying this was a excellent performance! Although the set was great, I feel that all other dancers need to match to your red and blue Jodi’s. Often times you see them going buck while everyone else is noticeably lacking. Something that you guys should focus on for your next comp is elevating your dancers up to there level. This can help make you guys look like a unit instead of 16 different dancers, which is why I believe furteelay placed over you guys. All 12 of there dancers looked like the same people dancing on one stage with different personalities on there faces. If you guys can clean to your blue and red Jodi’s you guys will easily be the nastiest team in the circuit! Keep killing it and can’t wait to see y’all again?! Congrats again on the win!

I don't think it was lacking - definitely agree with Mandeeps point though. Thought the set overall was great, and the best NJ set of the season, I just saw a few clumps of similar dancers, but not a consistently uniform approach to executing each move, each step each segment.

As @desi99 pointed out, spacing seemed tight, lots of tight moments (kabootar chaal, parts of saaps, etc). Definitely tuned down some aspects of the performance down a bit.

Was pretty much up a tossup and down to personal preference, just preferred the attention to detail Furteelay put into their performance (don't know judges feedback though and how that was interpreted in the rubric)

Great job - future of NJ looks bright!

Great routine, I think I would've had this over Furteelay by just a hair on the basis of set difficulty and style. A lot of the set was thematically similar to what we've seen from NJ warriors in the past, but I love that stuff so w/e. I also didn't see the differences in execution that others seem to be noticing, I thought most of the team from the top down executed well, maybe just the smaller stage made it seem that way as desi99 said.

Also ditto to what SRK said about the kato segment. I've mentioned this a few times to teams while judging, putting in a kato segment in the middle of the routine doesn't mean anything unless you're doing something interesting with it, and this is a great example of a segment that was an interesting change of pace and highlighted proper form with katos without being gimmicky with it. It's a subtle thing, but it shows that a team actually understands what they're doing, which NJ certainly does.

Thank you for your feedback, will definitely look into this for next time. Do you mind giving an example where you see everyone else noticeably lacking?
