Hi!
I just wanted to share a great opportunity with everyone! The organization I work for, Interfaith Youth Core, is partnering up with Groundswell and Valarie Kaur, to host a national conference call for Sikh college students tomorrow Sept. 6th at 6:30pm EST/3:30pm PST.
The call is an opportunity for Sikh college students to reflect on the tragedy of the Oak Creek Gurdwara, how they can personally continue to take action, and how they can now lead their campus communities in responding as well. The hope is that as Sikh Americans and more specifically, as students, they will not only be able to begin to change the dialogue and actions of their campuses, but eventually the country.
It's also an opportunity for those on the call to engage in a greater discussion on the involvement of Sikhs in the interfaith movement and in increasing religious pluralism in America today. There will also be an emphasis on the tools and resources available to them to make this change happen on their campuses such as through President Obama's Interfaith and Community Service and Campus Challenge and the Better Together campaign.
If you're interested in being a part of the national conference call, make sure to register for the call today by clicking here!
