i dont like the way kobe is playing what so ever - if you're off then you're off..i dont care how big of a superstar you are - get your freckin teammates the ball and make some plays like that - hes like 5-21 or something..maybe worse - penetrate and get it to odom, gasol, artest, etc...

artest is having a great game btw - offensively and defensively hes stepped up

If you think Kobe is anywhere near Jordans legecy... get the efff outtta hereee.... are you crazy ?

Kobe tried to take over the game multiple times and failed...he is one of the most selfish players I have ever seen play. If it wasn't for Artest and Gasol... Kobe might have hurt his teams chances of winning the game.

watch Michael Jordan celebration vs Portland Blazers - Game 6 NBA Finals 1992

any one catch Kobe trying to pull the same stunt...last night... simply pathetic ... Kobe's celebration last night...after that kind of performance... was almost as bad as Kevin Garnett's " anything is possiablleeee " ... after his performance in the 2008 finals.

all in all....Kobe is a khoosa... Jordan is a God... Lebron to the Bulls 2011 .....

BULLS BABY BULLS !

Jordan hasn't been the alpha dog in every game, sometimes he needed to ride Paxson or Pippen or whoever for a W

Kobe had a miserable first 3 quarters, but he was still making a difference by grabbing every possible rebound

People seem to forget that:
1. he did do that in the second quarter. Gasol missed 3 easy shots...2 right on the foul line
2. He kept trying, but then couldn't beat the double teams and was having passes blocked. So in production, bad passes < no passes at all, but he was trying.
3. People were not cutting. In that one shot where he's in the corner and hits the side of the backboard he looked to see if there was a pass to make but the double team + bad teammate positioning left him in a tough spot. Proper thing would have been throwing it off a foot or calling quick timeout instead of a terrible shot.

You're telling me Kobe doesn't make big time plays haha, he set the tone by being aggressive on the boards. He shot LA out of the game in the 1st half, but came back in the 4th and helped put the game away

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/400778-kobes-ten-worst-finals-performances-and-his-ten-best

This includes jordan's "worst" games as well, obviously they arent gonna be terrible.

Jordan was big time, Kobe is big time, and LBJ ain't nothing but a dude with no rings- but he has a ton of endorsements! yay!

Yo, Kobe will never and let me say again never be the player or person Jordan was.

MJ was just on another level. Kobe's stats don't match up with MJ's and neither will his accolades. Jordan never demanded a trade, and none of his teams were built a championship team like the Lakers or Boston. THe older teams earned rings, and didn't buy them.

Kobe's attitude and demeanor towards his teamates and society is bad also. The guy is a jackasssss, I'll admit he's very good on the court, but no where close to Jordan on or off the court. Lebron has a chance at getting closer to Jordan than Kobe ever will

lol wait man. I agree, Jordan's career is better than Kobe's (so far...but a couple more rings and strong seasons could change that).

But the rest of your analysis is just off. Jordan never demanded a trade...he just left basketball. And when he did his team went 55-27.

He didn't play with scrubs. He had one of the top 50 players on all time on his side in Scottie Pippen and also had some of the best role players of the time (like Dennis Rodman, Paxson, Horace Grant, Toni Kukoc, etc). His team was built like a championship team, just like Kobe's have been. Who is the second best player on the Lakers? Pau Gasol right? He doesn't stack up to Pippen's legacy. Who is the 3rd best player with Kobe? Lamar Odom? I'd take Dennis Rodman any day. Who is the 4th best? Derrik Fisher or Andrew Bynum? Steve Kerr/Ron Harper and Horace Grant/Toni Kukoc are just as good if not better.

Off the court, Jordan was and is considered one of the biggest divas and a-holes, much like Kobe. His demeanor towards society was gambling, punching Steve Kerr in the face, berating his teammates, cheating on his wife and paying the mistress off, etc. They are both hyper competitive, arrogant winners. I don't see much of a personality difference.

Haha silly Slammer, you think that Jordan had a pristine image? The Chicago media FIERCELY protected him, like I'm sure the Ohio media protects LBJ. Kobe lives in LA, the media here roasts celebs on a daily basis, they dont care if you're Charlie Sheen or Tom Cruise. As Harman said, Jordan was a complete douchebag to everyone, he had mistresses and had issues with his teammates too. Jordan was in a time where the media wasn't as omnipresent as it is today, and once again he was in Chicago where they realized he was their only celebrity.

I will never say that Kobe > MJ, at least I won't have that discussion until kobe hits 7 rings. But who was MJ's competition? There was no LBJ/DWade/Melo/Durant equivalent in his time, MJ was simply the best, period. You had Phoenix/Portland/NYK/DET back then, and now we have more teams that can contend. And after this summer's free agency bonanza, who knows how many more teams will be primed for a postseason run.

Oh, and Chicago traded Olden Polynice for Scottie Pippen. Every great team gets lucky somewhere.

I'm a huge Jordan fan as much as the next person, I enjoy the game of basketball and love watching some of the classic games in its history. But I hate people that blindly say Jordan was the greatest and that Kobe/LA aren't even close. You have a HEAD COACH who has coached both players and won 11 rings telling you how similar they are in their greatness, yet people don't buy it. Lebron is too concerned with being a global icon or whatever, while Kobe just works on getting rings.
