Hey Everybody!

Does anyone know where or who I can find/talk to about bhangra vardiyan? For both guys and gals? I need, as of now, 6 guy uniforms and 12 girl uniforms. The details will come later, but for now, I need to know where I could secure them from. I heard Harkiran does customized costumes, but I don't want it too be too costly (this might be coming out-of-pocket). Also, they should be the full set for guys and gals, including all the accessories.

Please comment or send me a PM about any info you have. Thanks!

Yea prices have gone up. Your're looking at about 125 for guys and 85 for girls, thats the normal fits that most teams have. :)

Aight... that's fine with me. Ha ha. All together right? For 6 guys and 12 gals?
haha i highly doubt it; harkiran's quoted prices are probably per vardi per dancer. altogether, that comes out to $1770.
dayum.

he'd still be looking at that kinda money unless i guess he goes with just straight satin everything no embroidery on the kurta chadra and just somethin very light on the vest??

Yeah, as Gagan inferred, it depends on what quality of vardiyan you're after. If this is for a long term team, it would be a wise "investment" to buy high quality stuff from the beginning. You could perform at some GIGS (among other fundraising activities) to help reimburse the cost associated with the outfits.

If you're just starting up or not focused on the long term (if you're not sure how long the same team will be together), then you could try getting vardiya made yourself by buying the cloth and getting some aunties to help ;) Trust me, it might sound ghetto, but I've had to go that route with a lot of startup teams.. until we could get more "established" at least.

Thanks for the help/advice everyone! By the way, what are the potential materials for the costumes? I know there's satin and crepe. What else is there? Pro's and con's anyone?

buy a teams used outfits until youve gotten enough money from gigs/dues/donations/prizes then buy any kind of crazy vardi. for 12 i would try to save up around 1500, but you can get a very nice set for 1000-1200 as well.
