Hi Monica, I've updated your thread title to be more explicit, hopefully it attracts people. Good luck!

Hi Monica,

Could you possibly provide a few more details on what type of team you would like to start?
  • Is the team going to be a co-ed or all female?
  • Is the team going to be a music team (dance to pre-recorded songs) or will they perform to live instruments?
  • Is the goal of the team to compete locally, regionally, and/or nationally?
  • How many people are you looking to recruit? If co-ed, what's the split on guys/girls? Do you happen to have anyone else interested already?
  • From which area are you looking to recruit people from? Just Riverside or are there any other cities you don't mind people joining from?
Also, if you're looking to join a team, which type of team are you looking to join? Again, please provide details, like from those questions that I mentioned above.

To find established teams in your area, you can check out this link. It might help you out a bit in your search. You can contact them using the information that is provided in that link or post a response here if you need other contact information for any team.

Maybe others from California or those who know teams in your area can chime in and offer more advice.

Best of luck to you,

~ Basim :)

P.S. - Bhangra and Bollywood are music completely different. Dancing to each one is very different as well, hence you can't just lump them together. I guess you should decide on which genre your future team will target first, lol.

  • Is the team going to be a co-ed or all female? The Group will be Co-ed
  • Is the team going to be a music team (dance to pre-recorded songs) or will they perform to live instruments?
  • Is the goal of the team to compete locally, regionally, and/or nationally? The songs will be pre-recorded and my goal right now is to get enough people to join with dedication and then go regional or maybe even national. I am good at choreographing songs and I love ideas from anyone so right now my goals are small. To even get a team together locally is a big deal right now :)
  • How many people are you looking to recruit? If co-ed, what's the split on guys/girls? Do you happen to have anyone else interested already?I happen to have one person interested so far but the whole idea was to post on BTF to get more recruits. As far as male and female split goes, I would like to first see how many people are willing to join the team and then decide from there as far as grouping goes within the choreography. As an estimate maybe, at the max 10-12 people.
  • From which area are you looking to recruit people from? Just Riverside or are there any other cities you don't mind people joining from? I do not mind if others would like to join the team in California. The more the merrier :)
Also, if you're looking to join a team, which type of team are you looking to join? Again, please provide details, like from those questions that I mentioned above.
I can do both Bhangra and Bollywood because I did once combine the two into a mix. But I am leaning more towards Bollywood.
