LOL, what's "Lawk Naach"?

I wonder how the judges of the record determined that people were actually "doing bhangra." Dancing in place to a Punjabi song somehow seems quite marginally doing bhangra. Definitely not ਲੋਕ ਨਾਚ. ;D
Maybe it's the fact that everyone is wearing a uniform..... ???

I kinda wondered that too. Not sure how they go about determining whose all dancing to bhangra and who isn't.

I think it's just as you stated - they get a certain number of people dressed up and all "attempting" the dance or "moving" at the same time.

In this video, you'll notice there is a metal railing separating the viewers/spectators and the actual dancers, so I'm sure they was a lot of pre-planning that went on to get this many people all dressed up in "bhangra attire" and be somewhat coordinated with their dancing.

when this was done in Brampton in 2008 by the nachdi jawani academy (it was mostly young kids that participated) we had to register and there was an actual routine which was taught and practiced at each of the academies.. perhaps something similar was done here, i.e. registering the participants and teaching them moves or a specific routine so that everyone is coordinated.. of course there were also people there who participated but did not know the routine but the moves were very simple and easy to follow along with the hundreds of ppl around who knew the routine.

im pretty sure tho the Guinness verifiers on location dont really care.. they just check ppl into the contained area one by one and count how many ppl enter and after that they just look to see if a majority of the ppl seem to be dancing and there you have it, a world record.
