-=New Podcast - Bhangra Pulse - from Sulman and Dheerja - Episode 1=-

Hello all! I have not posted on this forum for a long time, but I wanted to invite you all to download a new podcast that Dheerja Kaur and I have been working on recently. We are starting up a weekly discussion on one topic in the bhangra community entitled the Bhangra Pulse. You can subscribe by following the link below, or downloading the initial podcast episode directly here on BTF. All feedback and questions are appreciated, and we can use this post as an initial discussion form for the first episode, and suggestions for upcoming episodes.


Our first guest is Yasaswi Raparla, better known as Swi. In the first episode, we have quickly discussed many issues in PTI format, including the roles of females in bhangra, traditional vs modern, bhangra mixes, and judging amongst others, as a sort of teaser for full fledged discussions on topics in future episodes.


Our guest for the next episode will be Danny Singh from APD, and we will be discussing a modern team in a traditional world.

Video is not feasible, since everyone is in different locations. I think this is great as is. One suggestion though: It would be nice if you could allow the speaker to finish his/her thought once the buzzer sounds.

I guess being in different locations would make it harder for them to, "appear" as guests on the podcast.
Also, I agree with you about letting people finish because the idea won't really get across. Plus, if you have to extend the podcast then I'm pretty people wouldn't be mad. You've got my vote for a few more minutes !

Thanks for all the feedback guys! This was actually our only episode with the PTI-style format, moving forward each podcast will be 100% devoted to one topic. So next week Danny from APD will join us for an interview and discussion about APD/KJ and being modern in a traditional world.

Video is a must - this is 2011, not 2006. There are workarounds. Skype it and then record it with a video recording plugin. I'm sure there must be video recording for Google Hangout as well. Technology is your friend.

Actually the decision to go audio wasn't because of technical limitations (there are plenty of video recording options). We chose audio so people could casually listen on the go - in their cars, on walks to school, etc.
