Hey everyone!

It`s that special time of the year when the NFL playoffs begin.

Who do you think will in the wildcard round,

I`ve got...

Baltimore over Miami
Indy over SD
Atlanta over Arizona
Phili over Minny

If a few more of you post your pedictions we can start up a competition to see who picks the most correct teams by the end of the Superbowl.

Enjoy your Sunday, hope you watch the games!

I agree with you on all picks...the wild card games should have no surprises, but anything can happen....the only one I would tend to maybe falter on is the Eagles...they stomped us (the cowboys), but if anything is true of the nfc east, it's that we are a model of inconsistency...it would not surprise me one bit if the eagles came out flat and the vikings jumped all over them...Baltimore's defense is too strong, miami will not hold up...indy is coming in way too hot to be stopped...atlanta and arizona should be one hell of an offensive game, but the presence of a running game and a better defense gives atlanta the clear edge...

Ultimately...On the NFC side,I don't see anyone being able to stop the Giants even without plax..their defense and running game are way tooo strong...Eagles have a chance, but again they are so inconsistent, and if Westbrook has a bad game, they are done...

The AFC will be sooo interesting...with indy comin in hot, steelers lookin like the team that won the super bowl, the ravens...well ravens defense..nuff said, and how can we forget about the titans who gave the steelers a goood stomping towards the end of the season...i am so confused...but I'm gonna go with the Titans...their running game is so strong and their defense has played well...steelers running game has really taken a turn for the worse as they have been reverting to short passes instead of actually running the ball...indy...welll peytons due for a bad game...and the ravens..will their offense be able to pull through? flacco bein a rookie and all..

I don't know we'll see...my call for the super bowl is a safe one.

Titans v Giants

let the games begin.

Yeh the NFC east was a let down this year and it is overly hyped by the NFL media. A lot of people i know were officialy stating the Redskins win the NFC east earlier this year, and some of them are on this forum ;) Phili over Minny is my upset pick for this week becasue i beleive Brian Westbrook has the ability to deek out the DE's of Minny and use his versatility to get yards. We all know Brian Westbrook will not run North and South on the Minny Defense because he will get injured, but his ability to run outside will be the differerence. Also look for Donnovan Mcnabb to use play action a lot and use the screen pass a lot to Westbrook , Westbrooks ability to gain yards after catch is really good.

Baltimores Defense alone will beat the Phins. No doubt Miami does not turn the ball over (which is an AMAZING stat) but Baltimore will not make a lot of mistakes either. I expect this game to be really close and low scoring. Expect the field goal kicker for Balitmore to make the difference. I like the dynamic duo of running backs in Baltimore because you have Mcgahhe who has the smoth runing style and Le'ron is a tought north south runner and its going to be tough for Joey Porter to stop both. Joe Flaco is just like Pennington this year and he will play it safe and utilize his TE's (Todd Heap), Don't expect Joe Flaco to go with the long ball in this one.

Indy is just to experience, talented and smart to be beat by a SD team. This game will consist of a lot of points but at the end of the day Peyton Manning will take over and win it by himself. Simple as that.

Atlanta vs Arizona , we all know Atlanta has been a great surprise this year. Matt Ryan looks like a young Tom Brady in the pocket and Michael Turner had 1699 yars rushing (amazing). Atlanta defense always gets over looked, but John Abraham is very talented and he will be the difference maker in this game. Also expect Turner to get 150 yards rushing. Just like the Indy/Sd game expect this to be high scoring. As for Arizona they have the best duo in WR in the league but Kurt Warner will get blitzed like crazy by Atlanta and you all know what happens to him when he gets blitzed. If Arizona faced Pittsburg or Baltimore this year he would get injured, no doubt.

Ultimately...On the NFC side,I don't see anyone being able to stop the Giants even without plax..their defense and running game is way tooo strong...Eagles have a chance, but again they are so inconsistent, and if Westbrook has a bad game, they are done...

I think Cariolina can make a serious impact in the playoffs if Delango Williams contributes effectively, we all know he can run the ball and score td's but can he block effectively? can he assist in protecting the qb? i don't think so (as of yet). When the time comes i'll make my prediction for the divisional series. The Giants are really strong, no doubt about that, Jacobs is a power runner and i'm sick n tired of hearing about toomer and hixon because they are both over rated. Expect Eli to run out the pocket more and Justin Tuck contibute more to their D.

Indy will be cooled off by the Ravens and/or Steelers (in my opinion). I expect the Steelers at home to be dominate, Polamalu is incredible in the secondary. Ben Rothlesburger will turn the ball over but he will make plays by using his legs and running the ball, expect him to be extremely moble in the playoffs and i hope the coaches give him all the power to make plays. I like the Titans but i expect them to loose against Baltimore, i think the Titans are this years regular seasons fluky team. I'm not a big fan of their qb (collins), running backs (white n johnson) and wr's i just think their offense will let them down in the playoffs, especially in the 4th quarter. The Defense for the Titans will show up but thats about it.

I don't know we'll see...my call for the super bowl is a safe one.

Titans v Giants

I aint giving any SB picks yet but i'll say this --> i like the following teams to go deep into the playoffs, Balitmore, Pittsburg, Indy, Gaints, Carolina & Phili.

Sorry, gotta disagree at LEAST on the Miami/Baltimore game. If i've learned anything through this insane season for my fins is that we win the games we're NOT supposed to. It's shocking, but it happens. Yet we struggle against teams like the Texans and KC. Baltimore is strong, and maybe I'm playing favs, but I wouldn't count the fins down and out just yet.

I agree with Indy taking the W over SD, and I'm excited to watch the Arizona Atlanta game (which I won't be able to since I'll still be in india). Philly/Vikings, same as u guys said, inconsistency will decide.

Just my two cents... Dolphins FTW! woo!

You sound like me when i try defend Khalsa Junction bhangra in the Toronto Bhangra community. I don't blame you for supporting a team thats near n dear to your heart.

IF Miami is going to win this they got to DELIVER on special teams, they need to gain big Yards on almost every punt return and make sure their kicker doesnt miss a single field goal attempt. Also, they need to continue to protect the ball as they've been doing so all season.

I do not see Ronnie Brow/Ricky Williams having any success against the Ravens defense, i also don't see the WR's delivering for the Phins.

Let's see what happens....you never know what can happen in the NFL.

Indy over SD - Both teams are hot. Both defenses are suspect. The edge goes to Peyton over Phillip. Both teams have been to the playoffs, but the colts have a ring. Tomlison is hurt again and Gates has been sitting out practice. Norv Turner will have his hands full having to also prove critics wrong.

Atlanta over Arizona - Had Mike Singletery been the coach from the start, I bet AZ isn't in the playoffs. The only edge for AZ is Kurt Warner. I don't think he'll be the same as we saw when he was in St. Louis. Both teams are new to the playoffs, but ATL went 11-5 in arguably the toughest division in football, and AZ went 9-7 in arguably the worst division in football. Sure Ryan is a rookie, but he has come through all season and has the confidence to do well in the playoffs.

Philadelphia over Minnesota - The Eagles and Donovan McCnab never lose in the wild card or division rounds. McCnab seems to crumble later in the playoffs. Minnesota's only edge is Adrian Peterson. Both defenses can stop the run but the Eagles secondary is arguably the best in the league. Eagles are hot and will dominate.

Miami over Baltimore - Flacco is a rookie. Yeah Matt Ryan is too, but Flacco seems like the one who would make mistakes in the playoffs. Example is Ben Roethlisberger. He had a stellar running game and defense which let him manage the game - Flacco has a solid running game and a good D. He managed games all year. When pressure is put on him and he has to make throws, i don't think he will and Miami will find a way to beat them. Joey Porter had a stellar season. He was clutch in the Steelers super bowl run, I think he will have the same impact.

Agreed for the most part except that everyone knows Indy has zero running game which is going to kill them. Believe it or not Rivers had the best passer rating during the regular season and because of him and solely him SD is where they are right now. I can see why you'd give the edge to Manning over Rivers from an experience point of view, but I feel we're in for a surprise tomorrow. Rivers still has zero scramble ability and is by far the worst run and gun QB in the league, but if the play calling is similar to last week, Rivers is gonna be a monster. Tomlinson and Gates both sat out of prac to avoid any further possible aggravation of injuries, but Turner said if the game was today that both would be playing ... so expect both of them to be playing tomorrow. And most importantly don't forget about SD's secret weapon Darren Sproles. It took Norv Turner long enough to finally realize how much of a threat Sproles is when he's put in the game, and by utilizing him this season in a series of special and screen plays, he poses a whole new threat to Indy.

go bolts!

Balt over Phins - Miami's going to have to resort to the passing game with Baltimore's top ranked run defense, and none of their receivers are talented enough to carry the offense. Pennington is accurate but has limited range. The only thing that worries me is rookie Flacco in the playoffs, I don't see him doing well and they'll have to heavily rely on the run game, which should do well on McClain's shoulders.

Colts over Chargers - Chargers secondary? Ranked 31st in the league. Combine that with Peyton's stellar performances as of late and you've got a winner. Also, now that the Colts running game is back on the field (Rhodes is set to play this weekend) they can take advantage of the faltering Chargers defense sans Merriman. BUT Indy's D is obviously an issue, and I have a feeling Darren Sproles might have a big day.

Falcons over Cards - Arizona was one game away from losing the NFC West to the Niners and thus sending a 7-9 team to the playoffs. (Outrageous. Ask me if you want to hear my 20 minute tirade on the outcome of the playoff system this year.) Kurt Warner is old. Take a cue from the "success" of Brett Favre this season. Again, the only issue I see is Matt Ryan as a rookie in the playoffs. But regardless Michael Turner will torch the Cards run defense and all will be well.

Philly over Vikings - Tarvaris Jackson in the playoffs? No thanks. And the way Philly's defense tore apart the Boys last week, AP won't necessarily have an easy time carrying the offense.

Just my two cents but...

Atlanta over Cards - though I think this will be close due to warner and the duo of boldin and fitzgerald, the falcons are probably going to have matt ryan manage the game and ride michael turners legs in this game. Cards defense is porous at best, but if they can force some turnovers, expect this game to have a different outcome if matty ice is forced to make plays.

Dolphins over Ravens- Im not sold on flacco, but more importantly, I am not sold that the marquee matchup of the game, the baltimore defense versus the dolphins O, is going to be lopsided. I think if pennington can hit short passes and keep ed reed out of the game(league leading nine picks) look for ronnie brown and ricky williams to gain 6-7 yards on the first couple of downs and pennington to stay accurate and pick up the extra yards for those firsts.

Eagles over Vikes- I dont normally agree with most football pundits, but this eagles team is dangerous. IF...IF Reid can balance the playbook and sub in buckhalter for westbrook when needed and split him out with jackson. Tavaris "Tartar Sauce" Jackson needs to make throws to avoid a massive rush and stuffing the box for peterson.

Charger over Colts- This game is all on mannings shoulders, since there is no running game and that the defense is a sieve. Rivers will make plays and so will Jackson, but it will come down to if manning can make all the throws. With jammer and cromartie(who is thus far having a bad season) I dont think he will. Chargers have nothing to lose, and make them exceedingly dangerous.

Sorry a little late here on the topic.

Baltimore > Miami......I understand flacco being a rookie, but take into account their Defense. They were the only team to completely shut down the Wild Card offense of the Miami Dolphins and look for that to happen again, also don't forget Miami has a first year HC. Would i be surprised if Miami won? No!

Atlanta > Arizona.....First and foremost, the division was given to the Cardinals, had Singletary been coaching since the start they would have had won the division, also had Seattle been healthy we would have taken that division with ease, look for the Seahawks to bounce back with Micheal Crabtree next year. Second, the cardinals defense is garbage! Micheal turner will grind out the yards, while the Roddy White tears up the Aerial attack with Rookie of the year Matt Ryan!

Indy > SD......It seems that Tomlinson has a small chance of playing with a torn tendon by his groin. Sproles will not be able to carry the load by himself if indeed Tomlinson is out. SD pass defense is horrid, combine that with a outstanding passing offense lead by MVP Peyton Manning it is hard not see the colts walk away with a win from Qualcomm Stadium. Don't forget the heart and soul of the Indy Defense, Bob Sanders. With Sanders on the field the colts defense has a whole new identity.

Eagles > Minny.....I fully expect Jackson to blow this game! Even if Jackson manages to not blow this game, expect that philly D to TRY to stop APAD (Adrian Peterson All Day). The eagles are a much more experiences team from coaching to players, so it will be hard to beat them! Donovon and Westbrook are a deadly combo!
