I'm just happy the NFL is BACK!


Here are some thoughts...

Crabtree is full of himself --> If he really wants to sit out the 2009 year and re-enter the draft his value stock will decrease a lot. He needs to put his ego aside and show everyone what he can do on the field....if he can do that, the paychecks will be coming in big time.

What I don't get about Crabtree is that he thinks he should be getting "Eli money" but hasent proved anything on the field (yet). Some blame does go to NFL owners who established an environment where rookies have gotten major contracts.

On another note, Eli's new contract is kinda ridicious (15.4 million per year). Yes he is a good qb but in terms of talent, maturity, and play-making ability he is not as good as Peyton, Brady or even Mcnabb. Part of his SB win was based on Burres and luck. He is an efficient thrower but his swaggar and confidence on the field isnt there (compared to Brady, Peyton, Mcnabb).

Also....Cutler is facing tremendous pressure in Chicago, this guy is either going to be a hero or boo'ed out of Chicago at the end of the season. I can't wait to see how this unfolds. I follow the NFC a lot and you know the NFL on Fox guys are gonna rip this guy apart sooner than later

Big Ben is innocent and Vick has served his time, I hope he makes a good comeback in the NFL, hopefully with the St. Louis Rams!

great perspective bro. I think my Cowboys are gonna end up middle of the road. I hate Wade Phillips, and with him...we will never be a championship team.

p.s....I love Cutler, but its Chicago...bet on him getting boo'd out.

I love talkin football, and bein from pittsburgh, i'll give a rundown of the AFC north:

Baltimore: Flacco will be a year better. we'll see how mcgahee recovers from that massive hit from ryan clark in the afc championship game, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQlmBHY-ALY .. but ray rice looked real solid in his rookie year. The question mark will be their recievers. With Mason flip flopping with retirement, we'll see what happens. They'll probably be the same offense we saw last year with a better Flaco and Rice. Their defense has a lot of very good veterans, but Rex Ryan is gone, and so is bart scott. The D will be solid, but we'll see how good they are when the season starts.

Cincinnati: PRESSURE. This team was supposed to be up and coming and start doin big things. Was 2005 a fluke? we'll know this year. Its time for Carson to prove he can still do it. Same with Chad Johnson Ochocinco. With all that said, cedric benson as the running back?? Are we surprised that Cincinnati took Andre Smith? Wait till he gets in trouble for just being stupid. Cleveland: hmmmmm. Remember when they were supposed to be half decent? suddenly they have a qb in derrick anderson, then they go out and draft quinn? since then neither has been good. no more winslow, braylon edwards drops balls like he gets paid to, and jamaal lewis is on his last leg. That defense is just plain shitty. Lets see what Mangini can do. If anything......

Pittsburgh: I went to training camp on one of the days and they're looking solid. Pretty much everyone is back except now darnell stapleton is out for a while and the O line was already shitty. But they'll be a year better, so hopefully that'll be a bright side. There's nothing else to say other than these guys should be back at it come september, and they'll be tough to beat again.

Outlook: cleveland and cincinnatti have major work to do more on defense than on offense. Pittsburghs offense was mediocre at best last year, and they ran up the scoreboard against both. Baltimore has got to find a way past pittsburgh and not let pit beat them in the 4th quarter. If Willie Parker and Rashard Mendenhall are healthy and pittsburghs o-line gets better, they'll win the division again and be challenging for their 7th Lombardi trophy. If not, it'll be another dog fight til the end.

Take it from a life long Lions fan...never expect anything from this team. I am still not over the way they wasted away Barry Sanders' talent (the most exciting player to ever play football).

Stafford has supposedly looked good through OTA's & Training camp, the new coaching staff can't be a downgrade from Rod Marinelli's horrible coaching and Calvin Johnson is a top 5 WR, but the defense is still weak and the OLine is not up to par. Still a lot of holes, but adding Julian Peterson, Larry Foote and the hope that the draft picks develop made this off season at least average.
