why not just post the EQed version then?
It most likely sounds better.

Your concepts were not that great, also some sound effects were random as hell (honest opinion)

oh im sorry, I thought people would like to hear same mix properly EQed. Specially with a limiter thrown on a master track while the whole mix is redlining (not even subtle redlining, like +6db - +10db over 0db redlining). That just shows there was 0 effort put into EQing, let alone mastering.

Mixers take blame for EQ and stuff but you all can't forget the role a team has in getting the mix made. Certain captains want their team mix to sound a certain way and the DJ takes blame for that and song selection is always on the team, not much Akash can do about that.

Also Akash bro if you post a mix here on btf people are going to give you feedback which may sometimes be repetitive but it is a discussion forum. Let people say what they want and if you are satisfied with your work just let it be. I understand your pain a select few people always have the same shit to say no matterk what. However your mix was pretty boss and I follow you on soundcloud as well, you've come a long way. Do you kiddo. The elite mixers on this circuit got good by doing what they want and having a distinct style, don't worry about the select few btf members who only "critique"

You left a small detail out: Those "elite mixers" have gotten to where they are by taking in criticism in a good way and improving their work. :)

I left that detail out on purpose, most of the mixers I know became good on their own. Actually I'll take that back, they took constructive criticism from the peiple that mattered (like when Swi actually critiques mixes) not from 4-5 people that comment on all these mixes and just tell everyone they suck, they should stop trying and the EQ sucks... We get it EQing is hard, if you guys really want to critique in sure you could do better.

I have seen the mix (not the mp3 but the actual ACID file itself, so I think I know what I am talking about). There is a difference between trying to EQ and master (when stuff is maybe 1-3db over, which can be compensated for easily) and when the master track redlining past that (which means there is something wrong with the overall project), it just mean little effort to no effort was made. Listen to the elite mixer, as Ankush says, and you'll see that they understand the the theory behind (ie- compression, EQ, reverbs, etc). The elite mixer got good at what they do is by constantly learning their trade. You can always keep doing what you're, but you have to keep learning along the way. Its nice to be praise, but you should also take look at what people dont like about the mix. There will always people who say "its amazing", but you will rarely find people who are completely honest about your work.

You should be grateful for any and all feedback you get. You should always go out of your way to learn something in your trade (even if its just a hobby), that is what will make you "elite" at your trade. Everyone says practice makes perfect, but thats wrong. Perfect practice makes perfect. I always give "redundant" critiques is because I like what the mixers are doing, and they should put effort into learning their trade. And majority of the mixer that post stuff have amazing concepts, but just mastered wrong. In no way am I saying I am an "elite" mixer, or know everything about music. But I understand the basics of music production and mixing, which everyone who wants to mix should learn. You may have killer concepts, but if you cant EQ and master them properly, and make no effort in learning whats the point? Thats like performing at a comp, and not listening and learning from what the judges critique.

At the end of the day you can't be so egotistical and shoot your critics. Shielding yourself from justifiable criticism is cowardice. Be respectful. People rave about Lebron James' inability to shoot free throws, but he has stepped out of his way, and learned from it. He could be regarded the GOAT regardless of his free throw percentage. But, he still follows his critics to maximize his potential.

Like I said I am in no way a master or anything. It's a constant learning process, but I am always willing to teach/show people what I know. I may not be active on BTF with my mixes, but I have enough under my belt to know what I'm doing. I used to post very detailed critiques, but certain mixers, not going to name anyone, took offense so I stopped doing that. I make a generic post now, and if they want they can message me personally for a more detailed critique.

Well put Mithu. Yea I just think lately its just been annoying to see a select few people bash youngins that are making an effort, so they do get fed up of it. Well put tho and I'm glad mixers have the option to message a few people and actually get helpful critiques!

Keep bringing bhangra some good mixes people!!!

Mundeyo ehni tah serious gal hani. I put the mix up to share it not to get you guys to write essays, i've said many times before i dont know how to eq that well, as for mithu paaji, idk where you saw the acid file cause i only sent it to preet, maybe he shared it with you and btw what i sent him was not eq'd or touched at all it was mixed and sent for him to eq. secondly EQ isnt an easy thing to understand, it takes time. tere vaastey sik lehna va, but for now this is the best i can do. Teams control mixes.Mixing for a team isnt a walk in the park, you have to control timings and KEEP EFFECTS LOUD SO THEY'RE HEARD WHILE THE DANCERS ARE DANCING. #FirstControversialPost

We understand what you're trying to say, but the volumes of your sound effects could have been fixed. They were way too high.
Just keep working at it man.
