Kinnell...I find your post rude and completely disrespectful to anyone that has ever been apart of pandemonium or has appreciated the show that they put on. Should you have all these opinions then perhaps share them in the appropriate thread like a panda performance video.
i believe numerous ppl have already stated that...get over it now - it was noted and he responded...
I'm giving my personal opinion...should it reflect and repeat others in the thread..then lets call that "emphasis".

Perhaps it was rude, however we must remember that he practiced his right to express his opinions (personal or w/e) on this public forum... it's not like it's the first time someone is being rude on this forum anyways... it's always happening and it's not really like every time, that person gets bashed on

I wish the best of luck to the entire Panda crew and was really looking forward to working with you guys in the near future. Hopefully we see a new team form consisting of your dancers sooner than later and see you guys competing again! Go nuts at the finale performance and goodbye party!

Actually - I don't think Kinnell said anything too ridiculous...the Pandas def got weaker as time went on...the person who posted this also says a lot of ridiculous crap (in jest...) so who cares if Kinnell says that it's his opinion...people say stuff we don't agree with all the time.

I'm not so sad they are leaving either...ha.

Seriously? What the f*ck. It's about decorum. Hold your tongue when it's meant to be held. It's not about setting precedence with how "honest" of a critique you can post up. It's about when to do it. If you think that's being fake or not honest, at least be considerate of others. Wow.

WELL SAID

its funny how people judge and critic others at pointless times.......remember that little annoying kid in your elementary school class that talked a lot of shit, when he shouldnt be saying anything at all....puree nostalgic moment right here

wow some of you have no respect at all. Criticism is fine when the time is appropriate. When a team posts a video, and they are asking to be critiqued, then by all means give them your honest feedback. But wow, I guess common sense isn't so common after all. Some of you really need to grow up and get over yourselves.

I really didn't want to come back to this thread, but I feel compelled to. It seems that my "eulogy" is being considered as a criticism. It is more of a reflection. You guys are clearly missing the point of it and taking it to extremes. I'm not hating, I'm evaluating a team's career. The team is done, I gave my 2 cents on a team's history and their effect on me. Take a chill pill and re-read my post. It's not hard to see that while I wish they tried new things, I clearly put more emphasis on the impact of the team rather than the (what I thought) was a lacklustre last few years. It's not about the time they spent in the circuit, but rather what they did with it.

I don't know if you realize, but NYU Pandemonium has always been a team of entertainment. I remember competing against them this past year, and those guys were the only ones drunk at the mixer and were the first ones to leave after the show was over to start their pre-game for the after-party. As Abhigames says, "For us, dancing was all about getting on stage and just straight up tearing it up. We never danced for the judges, we sometimes danced for ourselves, but most of the time it was for the ladies." To them, entertaining was all that mattered, and that is exactly what they did for 5 years. Maybe for you it got old, but for most other people out there, the hip-hop/bhangra battle was unique and entertaining.

There's a difference between a team that competes simply to try to entertain a crowd and not complain about placings AND a team that competes just to socialize, get drunk and try to get laid. A team can definitely be both, but you labelled the team as the former but for some reason, defined the latter. If the Pandas were truly a team that danced for the audience reaction, then that's an applaud-able mindset, but it has become a common cop-out and excuse as well for many dance teams as well. But yeah, you're right. Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder. If you were entertained, good for you - but you cannot speak for the rest of us.

And I feel that you didn't even read my post. My concluding statement was "your performance at AKD 2006 changed more lives for the better than you could ever realize." In my reflection, I point out the positive impact they had on the fusion circuit even after what I believed was a few recent not-so-entertaining-more-of-the-same performances, was GIGANTIC. For you to skip over things I said like how every guy wanted to be a Panda and how we (men) use to jizz in our pants when watching the performances is straight disrespect to my mixed-feelings reflection on the end of the Pandas. To imply that I was hating means that you're missing the point of the post.

I'm not sure why some of you think that saying that "I have mixed feelings. You guys changed the circuit and left your mark for the positive. I do wish you guys tried a few new things here and there, but despite what I believed was a lackluster last few performances, you guys changed lives" is disrespectful, rude, ridiculous, critical or bad timing. It's an honest, but thoughtful reflection on a team's decision to retire.

It's not a critique. Please stop pretending it is. It's really honest, yes. But you're right, this shouldn't be able about HOW honest a reflection is. I think the timing is fine. The team said goodbye. I'm saying "Y'all did amazing stuff, but yeah, I agree that it's your time to go. But good job though.". I think people need to step back and look at what I really said and stop thinking I implied something when I didn't. I didn't reply with saying "thank god you're leaving", "you're boring" or a sarcastic "good job being "entertaining"". When I read my post, I don't see hate or disrespect, but rather a perspective from someone who considered himself a fan who describes the impact of a retiring team along with their ups and downs.

I disagree with the negative comments towards the pandas.

The fact they are retiring doesn't give anyone the right to bash them on that. Everybody with a team out of their own respected domains has had some sort of movement to spread the love and passion bhangra.
