its pretty undeniable that hillary is a power hungry bitch after she has pretty much forced obama to letting her name be on the ballot at the convention.
I'm gonna mostly agree with neil on this. how is it in the best interest for hillary to be in the spotlight here? it's obama's time now and the party needs to move forward. hillary listening to a couple of her supporters who want to make a last stand in denver and give her praise is ridiculous-- she got plenty of praise and plenty of attention for 18 months. step aside and let the democratic party win.

the clintons are still pulling their 'he can't win, told ya so!' thing, so that obama loses this nov and hillary will have her last shot in 2012.

Alright. It is in the best interest of the Democratic Party for Hillary to be on that ballot. It is the smartest thing Obama could do right now, and if he didn't offer her the VP position he'd be ruining his campaign. Hillary supporters are a big chunk of the voters Obama needs, and he can't afford to lose them.

I don't see how that connects with Hillary being VP on that ballot?
It doesn't, that's a separate topic that deserves its own discussion. I think that after the campaign that was run, where he is pushing himself as "change", not the same washington politics, and where she says he's not experienced and can't handle the job--- an Obama-Clinton ticket is nonsense, it doesn't hold to the 'ideals of an Obama administration'.

Granted she got 2nd place, fine. But that doesn't entitle her to VP. If her supporters want to be so blind that they will not vote for Obama despite the fact that his and her policies are 95% similar, that is their own stubbornness and buying into her own 'cult of personality'.

And that is why I support Obama.

Also, I agree with Saleem. The percentage of Hillary supporters who would vote for McCain over Obama just because Hillary lost is almost zero. Maybe you could argue that some of them will be so bitter that they won't even vote, possibly throwing the election to McCain, but if that's your argument, then what does that say about the kinds of supporters that Hillary attracted?

I honestly don't really care if Hillary is on the ballot at the convention. I think it's silly, but probably no real harm done. What I don't get, though, is how people could think that picking Hillary as VP would be such a great move. There's already tons of racists out there who won't vote for Obama because he's black, and then you want to subtract all those people who won't vote for Hillary because she's A) a woman or B) Hillary Clinton? That doesn't make sense to me, which voters does he win over by picking her? He needs to appeal to the undecideds, not the already-staunchly-liberal Hillary supporters.

When I think of Hillary Clinton, the first thing that comes to mind is Bill... Would Hillary be where is she today if it wasn't for her husband? The attention that she's getting, how much of that is because of what she's done in office? When you become President, you have to be able to connect with the people, something Obama did much better than Clinton. She had her women with her and thats the only reason she was afloat. Honestly I dont like either candidate because frankly they both confuse the hell outta me with their flip flopping on issues. Hillary tries to come across as this smart, sophisticated candidate using fancy words, but that bitch wouldn't be anything without Bill... McCain is just another Bush, so voting for him in office is like shooting yourself in the foot all over again... Maybe we can get Parul on the ballot? hahahaha... atleats politics would be entertaining then!

dheerja, the big issue is over hillary's name being on the ballot for the democratic nomination at the convention, because she is a sad pitiful power hungry person. It not about her possible selection as vp, yet.

Concerning the vp issue, will hillarys supporters vote for mccain over obama? Well, the racist ones def will, ok, that was a cheap shot, but its sort of true. So, how much will hillary really help obama? For me, it comes down to the fact that hillary does not fit into obamas campaign. She is sort of a loose cannon that I can't trust to put all her effort into supporting obama. she just cares to much about herself and her own agenda.
