Obama...speeches?

We all know that Obama is a great speaker, but lastnight as I was watching the speech at his convention...it was excellent and he proved once again his ability to move people with his words...but...is it just me or....is his ability to give speeches so well a gift and a curse? In my opinion, it is sometimes hard to believe him because he his SO GOOD at his delivery....sometimes I often find myself absorbed in his actual delivery of his speech more so than exactly what he is trying to get across to listeners...it seems at times as all politicians he is telling us exactly what we want to hear but his excellent public speaking abilities compound the problem further...its easier for me to believe McCain because he seems to be stumbling a bit sometimes especially during question and answers so as to appear to be actually thinking about his responses...I understand that the election is about issues, but everyone knows that there are many voters out there that will vote solely based on the way the candidates carry themselves in front of the cameras....I guess my question is..

Is he too good of a speaker to believe?

I think his oratory skills are an asset, especially against McCain, who often doesn't remember how he voted, or blasts the position he voted for 2+ years ago. However, what he has to do is be SPECIFIC yet CONCISE on how he will improve America. A lot of people see his message of 'change' and don't know what he's talking about. He has definitely laid it out through speeches and his website, but I think he needs to put it out there more.

I think the best speakers are those who really know and understand what they are trying to say. Strong public speaking is not simply knowing how to read words on a paper exceptionally well- you have to fully agree with the message you choose to deliver. Where Obama excels is the conviction in his words and that to me is a sign of true passion and belief that he can and will make a change. If Bush had something wonderful to speak about and for once KNEW what he was talking about in the speeches he delivers, he too could be an excellent public speaker. How hard is it to speak elequently on a subject you know like the back of your hand??? As for McCain, with all this need for change and our questions answered, we are also in need of certainty and some sort of idication that we will be "ok" and the next 4 yrs will be nothing like the past eight. McCain slipping up on words, not executing his speeches strongly, the umms errrs and ahhhs can make people nervous. With his judgement already being questioned I dont think it is settling to hear McCain deliver his speeches with a less than average conviction that he IS the right person for presidency.

Obama 08!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
