vick, lets get beyond the bullshit of cheering for the hometown teams... lets be real, leafs suck... the sharks suck too buddy. They are gonna make the playoffs but get butted out in the first or second round like every year. You guys lost argubably the best offensive defensive in the game and replaced him with an aging rob blake. Your team is not great.

The top 3 teams in the league are set, and the only people of these cities should be talking any trash: detroit, pitts, montreal.

Vick, the stars, ducks, flyers and rangers are all better than the sharks. But I agree on one thing... who the fuck cares about phoenix?

Hahaha NSC, osgood isnt solid. THats your only weakness, I am not sure how osgood is going to do all year, also, conklin is not a good enough backup. Should have gone out and got a Huet, theodore, or some other goalies that were available.

2007-08 Season stats:
Chris Osgood: #1 in the NHL in GAA: 2.09
Ty Conklin: #2 in the NHL in save percentage: .923 (when Fleury was out, this guy was money)

If there is a weakness on the Wings, and this is it, again, I like our chances. Our defense is so good that whoever is in goal doesn't have to be great. Thanks for trying, though Summy, I like the effort.

Chris Osgood games played 07-08: 43
Ty Conklin games played 07-08: 33

Thats what I thought, no need to apologize, your sports knowledge is sorry enough.

If they were that great, why were none of them nominated for the vezina? Secondly, when you play 1/3 of a season, and 1/2 of a season, its no surprise your stats are a little inflated. According to your rankings, the other best goalies of last year would include: hasek- #3 in GAA, Giguere #2 in GAA, and Dan Ellis #1 is Save %. Did i mention that those goalies all played less than full seasons, including 41, 58 and 44 games?

Lets check out the Vezina nominees for best goalie: Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils; Henrik Lundqvist, NY Rangers; Evgeny Nabokov, San Jose Sharks.

Brodeur, games played: 77
Lundqvist, games played: 72
Nabokov, games played: 77

All of them with lower save % and GAA then conklin and osgood. The problem? They all played double the games of conklin, and almost double that of osgood. Nice try buddy boy, learn sports, then lets talk. Hahahaha CONKLIN AND OSGOOD playing less than half a season both, and hes hyping them up. When you play 33 games, you better have a high save % haha.

I know its pointless to argue with you. But I figured I would conclude my discussion with you. When I threw those stats out there, I obviously knew how many games the goalies had played. First off, Ty Conklin is a fucking backup....I'll take that save percentage for a BACKUP goalie. Second, Osgood split games with Hasek in the regular season.....the point is that when he played, he was SOLID. Your argument that "he didn't play a whole season, lets see how good he is when he plays 70 games wah wah wah" would be valid if we were talking about a young goalie like Jimmy Howard. But we are talking about a veteran here. One who also essentially played the entire playoffs and came up big. And let me emphasize again, I never said we had the top goaltending tandem in the league.....I said all we needed was for them to be solid, and the statistics show that when they did play, they were solid. As far as my sports knowledge goes...all I have to say is that coming from you, man, I'm not really offended. I think you lost credibility talking sports during hoops season. Waaaaah Summy Waaaah.

Wait wait waitttt a minute here... The Sharks suck? They finished with the second best record in the league last year... We still have to figure out a way to overcome our playoff woes, but to say we suck makes you look like an idiot... Yea we lost Brian Campbell this year, but we also got rid of Ron Wilson, who was our biggest road block to success... He sucked... Toronto will soon figure that out... We took care of Pittsburgh and Montreal last year, I'm not too worried about the eastern conference... Detroit will be a force in the west, probably the only team in the NHL between us and the cup... When you have Joe Thornton, hands down one of the best players on the planet, it's hard to lose...

Guys please keep it clean because I am too bored by hockey to read through it all to moderate. I'll end up asking Waldo to do it.
Thanks,

NSC, you're the right the Wings are a solid team, but do you really think that they can make it back to the Stanley Cup Finals? Though they have an unbelieveable forward and definsive line up, I am not sure that their goalie duo can do it for them. They will probably ride Osgood as the number one until he makes a critical mistake or goes on a losing streak. I still think they will end up in the top three, winning their division because they don't really have a tough division, but I don't think they will repeat again.

Vick, the Sharks without a doubt are a solid team in the regular season. But they haven't gotten anything done in the playoffs, and that's where it really counts. Though they did get rid of Ron Wilson, they will still have to find a way to get through the first or second round this season. Anything less then a Stanley Cup Finals appearance is going to be a dissappointment. So all you Sharks fan get ready to be dissappointed again haha. :p

NSC panties got in a bunch awww... Thats right you shouldnt argue with me, better yet, the next you time you argue, how about you throw some stats to somehow else that would buy that bullshit.

Haha, my sports knowledge, coming from a dweeb that didnt chime in during the discussion very much, I understand your reason why. Hey, throwing out 2 backups and their GAA and save %'s, if thats your understanding of sports knowledge... haha, this will be fun.

Yeah when you dont have the tear of a full season, its easy to perform in the playoffs. Lets look at OSGOOD THE SAVIOUR... In the last 6 seasons.... Osgood played one full season in 03', 67 games.... WITH, YOU GUESSED THE POWEHOUSE THAT IS THE.... St. LOUIS BLUES!!!

Did I mention that before he was signed as a sentimental backup in detroit he was playing in the AHL? Yeah that saviour was sent down to the minor's.

Veteran? A wash up vet more like it. Those goalies are the weakness of the team, and you want to claim like they are not. They are the weak link. They have a good back 6, aging, but good, and you want to pump up the goalies like they are a good compliment to the front 12 and the defenseman.

Dont talk sports with me little guy, back to dancing.

Vick, your right, the sharks dont suck, I just dont like when any of your teams have a chance. haha. Giants, 49ers and Warriors still suck bud.

I think you guys are really underestimating the canucks for the upcoming season. We've got a fresh healthy team going in. New offensive lineup without an underachieving naslund, morrisson, etc. The twins are gonna come out stronger than last season with good players complimenting them. Demitra, bernier, johnson, hordichuk, etc. may not seem like big names, but they're solid veterans. Kesler and Burrows were promising last season, and with the old guys gone, they'll definitely get opportunities to step up. I'd like to see pyatt grow some balls and be a force in front of the net. Offense for us is definitely going to pick up this season. Also, not to mention one of the best (healthy) defensive lineups in the league as well as one of the best goalies in Luongo. SO yeah, canucks. Lets go! Im stoked!!

its the everyone has a chance in the beginning of the season syndrome....

Im gettin in the mood too...Leafs can win it all. Even though, we have nobody thats ever scored over 30 goals. Our coach called the media stupid today. Our GM is 98 years old, and got the job on the resume that he brought Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark to the leafs in the late 80's. Our #1 centre is a 4th liner in every playoff team. We have the 24th highest cap, in a market that rakes in the most money in the league and pay anything over the luxury. We still have a chance.

The most exciting team to watch will be the lightening.
The most frustrating: canucks, wasting a good goalie, nobody can score on the team.
The funniest team to watch: St Louis Blues-- haha their name cracks me up because of their team.
The team I am hoping fails miserably: Sharks and Senators.

As much as people want to deny the inevitable .... the RED WINGS will take it! hands down.

Everyone knows it in the back of their head but I ain't mad at others for wanting to boost their own teams. As for me, I just wish I lived in Detroit so I could buy some season tickets dirt cheap in that economy of theirs!

Red Wings will take their conference.

Hopefully the Canucks pick up Gaborik asap. He's hesitating to sign with the Wild because he wants to play with Demitra. That would be offensively solid for the Nucks.

Anyways, Wings again. Sorry guys. It's inevitable. Get 'cho squids ready!!!!

Pfft, Penguins, what a joke! Pfft, Canadiens, what a joke!

im pretty sure Gaborik Still has a year left on his contract and he will be a Free Agent next year. The wild are just pushing to sign him before the season starts. So no way nucks are getting him this year unless it is a trade.
