One of the best teams of all time

UBC GIRLZ!!!!.. about 4 years back they were the the best team in North America and were the ones to beat with about 16 trophies under their belt, with up to 6 of them being collected in one bhangra season. And today with the majority of the team in their late 20's- early 30's with a few married, makes them an inspiration, to see them still dancing and taking bhangra to new levels with performances at the Olympics among many othesr.

I thank them for paving the road for all girls bhangra teams today and showing the bhangra commuity that girls can do bhangra and should not have a bias placed on them because of their gender!

Yeaah I remember years ago when they were a team everyone watched, looked up to and looked out for! UBC girls were pioneers of girls bhangra. Props to them for still dancing, would be nice to see them compete again.

Soooo, some news....WE ARE BACK! UBC Girlz Bhangra Team is celebrating a milestone and like any Bhangra fanatic the only way to celebrate is to storm the stage infront of family and friends! VIBC 2011 The UBC Girlz Bhangra Team will be rocking it out with a special exhibition performance! We are so excited to perform in our own hometown for the city and community that has supported and given us so much love over the years! We hope to see you on May 14th at the VIBC 2011 Bhangra Competition...it's time to Bhangra baby!
