Opinions needed on a potential competition in Miami, FL

Hey everyone,

My name is Pauli Chhina, I am a member of ASD Girls Bhangra based in Detroit as well as Hurricane Bhangra at the University of Miami. I have recently joined eboard for Miami Mayhem, originally a Raas competition. However, some of us are pushing to include bhangra teams this time around as well. The competition will take place in either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th weekend of February 2018 (still in the process of confirming venue bookings). We understand this can be a busy time for competitions and wanted to get opinions on whether or not teams would be interested in coming out to Miami for a half raas, half bhangra competition. All feedback is welcome & much appreciated

Definitely think that the more competitions the better, especially building off the name that Miami Mayhem already has. Would recommend reaching out to previous competitions happening around this time to try and pick a date thats least conflicting (Fever, NDC, and Big10 come to mind). Miami would be pretty sick - make it over spring break Best of luck!

I think a competition in Miami is a great idea, it would gather a lot of interest because of the location, and it seems like you guys already have a good foundation, so you could make it happen without too much difficulty.

YESSSS!! Would love to see more Florida competitions! But agree with Rohan - many teams would love to come to Florida but may end up choosing a more local competition due to convenience, especially if Mayhem ends up conflicting with other major competitions. If you can find a date where there are no other major comps (if possible), you guys will most likely see a LOT of attention from teams everywhere. Good luck!

Miami is a great idea!! Even if it does conflict with other 'bigger' comps, there are so many teams in this circuit that you'll have plenty of great applicants anyways. Teams would love to fly out because the weather down there must be awesome, and if you could provide transportation from local airports, that would make it even more appealing.
