The Punjabi Cultural Association of the Tri-Valley is launching a Junior Bhangra and Giddha Competition as part of their annual Vaisakhi Mela. The event will be taking place on Sunday May 17th, 2015 at the Castro Valley Center for Performing Arts located at 19501 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA 94546.
PCATV is a nonprofit organization that does not have the budget to provide accommodations for teams, so it is recommended that local teams apply, but there is no location restriction. Currently there are 4 junior bhangra team slots and 4 junior giddha team slots in the competition, however based on team responses two additional slots in either category will be added. As of right now there will be a first and second placement, with prize money, in each category. If additional slots are added then a third placement will be added as well.
