Please stop bringing Jus Reign to comps

This is a serious request to competition organizers

Having just been to two competitions where he was the emcee, plus a few others in the past, he has consistently been unfunny and really just sucks out the fun of any competition. The novelty of having Jus Reign is completely gone, and as far as I understand every team dislikes him. For teams at the Boston mixer, his attempt to hype us up was "don't fuck up cause your team will hate you" and "can't wait to see the walk of shames from the girls on Sunday"

The cost of bringing Jus Reign and his posse is much higher than just hiring someone local to emcee the show. The local person would be funnier, and not fuck up the teams name (such as introducing UVA as VCU). You can even see in the Boston Bhangra live tweets that everyone in the audience dislikes Jus Reign too.

If I'm the lone opinion here, feel free to respond

This probably is my first post ever. I wholeheartedly agree with the comments above.
I was watching the show live in Boston and this guy was awful. All he could say about teams was "Ummmm...ummmm...Here is Punjabi Hit Squad....Give them a round of applause. Next team is ummmmmmm...ummmmmmmmmm...Bhangra Empire. They are well known."
Maama eh tan saare pind nu pata. Tu ek line tan chaaj na bol laa.
He did not add any value to the show and was boring. I am not a huge fan of DJ Pup Dog either and the bar was set pretty low.

+1 to this as an audience member from bbc. no hate to the guy, i think he makes great youtube videos...but i don't think he's the right personality to MC.

Two things:

1. Punjabi jokes are great for a Punjabi audience, but not great when there's a diverse audience and that's your only calling card.
2. Don't ever have paraphernalia where there is any swearing at a family event, racial profiling, and dialogue where you acknowledge you might be making shit up as you go. Having family and friends who can read subtitles that discuss swearing and foul language, especially for young kids, is never acceptable.

Yeah add Superwoman to the list as well

Agreed. Both of them are fantastic at what they do on Youtube, but it just doesn't translate well into emceeing a show.

Agreed! I saw him back at Bhangra Blowout 18 and he was mad annoying. He kept making a joke about "not seeing this many gujus in Brampton". Maybe that would fly at T Dot, but it got nothing but crickets in D.C.

Whenever i've seen them, Ikagar/Sunlite/Hoodini do a pretty good job. they're not crazily funny or anything but they're unique and lively. no sketchy jokes or anything. get them instead.

Stand-up comics bomb on stage all the time, I don't see Jus Reign's situation being too different. Maybe I just feel bad attacking his livelihood, but dude really does need to polish up his skills after what I saw at BBC this year. He should hit up some open mic's and work on his craft if this is what he wants. Also, he hasn't been hosting for long as far as I know. Hopefully he gets better with time.

JusReign and Superwoman are both terrible show hosts.

that guy from elite 8 2012 who said "the new york police department!" for NYPD is pretty funny, comps should get him

I love Jus Reign, but he should stick to making funny YouTube videos. His personality doesn't translate well on stage.

I'm not a fan of Superwoman's on-stage personality, either. Nothing personal against either of them - I just don't like them as emcees.

I'm so glad that older gentleman Timothy shut him up at BBC. Jus Reign basically singled him out the entire show for being white, and the guy took it all in stride and did a frontflip on stage. It was incredible

Majority of his jokes at competitions consist of a persons race. The video of his friend consisted of swearing and unnecessary language, that's not the type of props a person should use as an emcee to get attention.

I think having Jus Reign come to comps is an opportunity for his fans to meet him. But, considering all the benefits he probably gets, (paid travel, lodging, after party, etc.) researching about the teams prior so that they can be introduced properly isn't asking for much. A google search on most teams or a visit to their Facebook page has a good amount of info. (Team started in the year 20XX, placed at this comp X times etc.)
