Yes, please no more Jus Reign at comps.

Superwoman is great.

I'm just waiting till someone brings Gurpreet Guggi. Shit would be wet.

I vote we have Karan do all MCing.
I wouldnt miss a single show if that happens.

Karan would make a killer emcee, definitely more entertaining than JusReign and Superwoman

He actually did MC Bhangra Allstars in Surrey years ago, I think it was in 2007.

And I agree with everyone. I saw Jus Reign MC Boston and Burgh this year and I was really put off with the comment of he can't wait to see girls doing the walk of shame the morning after the comp (this was at the mixer at Boston) and the whole act of "HEY I'M BROWN AND YOU'RE WHITE/ASIAN/BLACK etc. LETS MAKE FUN OF THAT" at both competitions. I think he really needs to do his research about the competition he's going to, the audience of such competitions, and the teams he's introducing. Or simple, just stick with making Youtube videos.

However, I did meet him in person at both competitions and talked to him for a bit and he seemed friendly.

JusReign is always amazed when he sees someone on a bhangra team, or in this case in the audience at a bhangra competition who isn't Punjabi.

In Burgh he was particularly amazed at the Asian dancers on certain teams, tried to be their matchmaker too.

JusReign is the worst mc at a competition ever. I remember Blowout 18 and the Gujju comments (half our team was Gujju back then too) and I was livid when he announced us as VCU this past Burgh. He's not funny live, and he's been doing this for three years now. I think we've given him enough chances and time to get better at this and to stop being an arrogant prick.

Superwoman, on the other hand, is fantastic. She's done a great job at WBBC, Blowout XX and T Dot. Maybe you as dancers or individual viewers aren't huge fans of her, but she knows how to get a crowd going and she seems to have a faithful fan following.

But back to the main point, screw JusReign, he sucks.

Based on the video it's obvious jus reign was wanting a laugh at the white gentleman. It's wrong and personally Not a fan of his videos either. He is too cocky and thinks he is all that.

yes.

Also, I think Jus Reign is trying, but he has to realize his YouTube viewing audience is not the same as the audience he faces at Bhangra competitions.
I'm sure someone on a competition committee has a decent enough personality to be able to emcee a show, but then again the amount of extra tickets a competition sells because of someone like Jus Reign or Superwoman hosting a show plays a large factor as well and it helps competitions make back what they're spending.

I still intend to make my all asian live team one day.

nkrishnan, thank you for starting this thread. I've been saying this all year. He's damn arrogant and I could tell he would be a horrible emcee before seeing him at BIB this past weekend. I even dislike him on YouTube. I took the time to talk with him at the Burgh mixer to see if he was any more pleasant in person...not really.

Not a fan of Superwoman either, but at least she is an entertaining host. Wouldn't be my top choice but far better than JusReign for sure.

Hopefully enough people will see this thread and actually stop inviting him to comps.

Jusreign didn't seem too cocky or anything when I got to talk to him, he was really cool about taking picture with me too. He isn't a good mc, I think he is just better at "planned humor" rather than spontaneous jokes. I think if he took a lil time and did research and stuff like people said he could potentially do a much better job

Superwoman is a really good show host. Since she has such a huge fan base, everyone knows her. I remember ar Blowout XX she also had people come on stage for a dance off and she was very supportive with all of them. She had the crowd going. I just wish she was funny, she is at times but all the time.

On the other hand for JusReign...I've heard that he makes a lot of racist remarks against non-punjabi's. And I feel like he's really not that funny in his videos either. Washed up.

racial/cultural comparison jokes are getting really old and tasteless...

"hey guys look at what my people do and compare it to white people".. this genre of comedy needs to stop... its cheap and is lowering the standard of being funny.

Burgh brought paul varghese a few years back and he was hands down the GREATEST SHOW MC EVER! He is an indian stand up comedian but he doesnt make indian/racial jokes just a normal stand up comedian he had the entire audience laughing our asses off. I think bhangra competitions can use rising stand up comedians as show mc's its not like the mc needs to be a bhangra expert, just need to be able to introduce the teams and make some jokes/ get the audience involved in a non offensive way. Stand up comedians are the way to go!
