Vic - I want to recognize mean people like you so I can stay away from them or be a jerk back. And I can see why you wouldn't want to be recognized...

You know...recognizing people isn't always a good thing...it can make for quite an awkward social situation....its happened to me before where people recognize you from POL, and the whole introduction thing is SUPER awkward....better to go in not really knowing who is who.

HAHAHHAAH I love recognizing people from forums at competitions. But I understand what jeeti is saying. How you know a person "online" in some way sets expectations of how a person SHOULD BE "in person". SO the awkwardness comes from when the person is expecting you to be the same person that you are online. There are only a few people who have the same personality in person that they have online. Guppi, Vick, I think me, Jeeti is the same way he is online, hmmmm who else.

Well I actually don't look around for people that I meet at forums unless I talk to them on a regular basis. I resort to the old fashion way of meeting people lol

that is why you should not have any expectation when meeting someone.

That is much much easier said than done....we converse on BTF or POL for however months include the off-season, it is very difficult not to form some sort of an expectation...if you can do it...all the power to you.
