So I'll be honest - I'm not really a fan of the original song, but your take on it is great. I actually prefer it over the original (which I can't say for the majority of mixes).

I liked the whistle build up and especially like the part starting after the rap clip + gun shot at 0:09ish. It's that whistle combined with the clap which is a unique beat/sound that has allowed the rest of your mix to really take shape. One feels like bouncing their head to simply follow that beat, so it works well!

I liked how you use rap clips sparingly and didn't allow the rap to take over your mix. This song by Diljit sounds so much better sped up and I'm glad you decided to increase bpm of the vocals in your mix. I also liked the snare drum & high hat sounds used starting from around 0:26ish onward.

Overall, the mix is EQed well imho and you have a great concept going so far. If you continue to work on it, I would try to change things up after another 15-20 seconds otherwise your mix has the danger to sound really static (especially if you continue with that whistle + clap beat with the continuous "hey hey hey" in the background).

Hope this feedback helps you. I enjoyed your take on mixing this song.

Wow, such a well articulated response! So first I really do appreciate you actually spending some time to give me some feedback, thanks.

A remix sounding better than the original is, I feel, every mixer's dream goal. So thank you for such a huge compliment :)

Tempo was something I initially imagined was gonna be a challenge. Taking a song and bumping it up ~25 bpm and still sounding "original" can be tricky. But this song meshed so well at the higher BPM. I actually prefer the higher energy of the sped up version, although I feel it completely changes the identity of the original song. I encourage anyone who hasn't heard the original to listen to it:
Proper Patola Diljit Dosanjh feat. Badshah Full Video

And you hit exactly on my next challenge: this mix could get really static really fast, and a bit messy with Badshah's rap verse. I'm working on that right now and have some creative ideas for the full mix, stay tuned 8)

Thanks again Basim for the great feedback!
