honestly, i dont see the hype. PMC is a legend obviously but hes just been declining. now he just throws whatever loops together and gets a good lyricist to make vocals for some singer.

this sounds like the same loops from The Raj...specifically the dhol sounds like its from morni and this beat is just so basic.....im not hatin on simplicity cuz sometimes thats key but it almost has no flow, just "dhol in....build up now...add crash"....any bedroom producer could do that. layering kicks over dhol to get that sound that u can tell they both dont go together, its just one on top of the other.

its a decent song, but he didnt do justice to it. stop fucking making songs to make a quick buck PMC, you're ruining your name.

I do agree with you to some extent. There's a lot of recycling going on in his music.

But, trust me when this drops in parties, crowds will go wild. It's a phenomenon abt PMC that is hard to understand or explain.

It was the same thing with Mundian toh bach ke...

And remember its been 20 yrs.. his first album came out in 93

completely agree. The vocals arent even that great. The wobble base is like what a newbie does in Ableton. Its way to simple, dhol are same old. Nothing new, over hyped song.

Sorry to say PMC's era has basically come to an end. I think he should focus on he record label more, and hire producers like Tru-Skool and Guspy.

There's really not many PMC songs I've listened to again after the first time.

Jatti
Jogi
Mirza 2

And even those only because of the amazing lyrics and vocals. Other than that, I've not really seen growth in his style since the beginning. Same iTumbi, same kicks, clap, dhol.

If you listen to Sukshinder Shinda's production from him starting out and him now, there's a world's difference in his music.

In reference "Mundian To Bach Ke"...

To other producers, "I'm really happy for you.. I'mma let you finish.. but Panjabi MC has one of the best bhangra songs of all time. ONE OF THE BEST BHANGRA SONGS OF ALL TIME!" :p

Sorry, had to do it.

P.S. - GSingh - What about the song "Moorni"? Probably one of his biggest songs used by teams after it got released. Gotta give the man credit; as 2nyce said, he's a legend in the Bhangra industry (no doubts about that).

ok even in mundeyan toh bach ke......he used busta rhyme's knight rider beat....not his own. he did what many other producers/artists do (RDB & myself for example), take an instrumental and put vocals on it then add like one tumbi and dholki

producing bach ke would take me a few hours. unfortunately he had the creative vision first to do it so he won. alls im saying for being some superproducer he has zero advancement and hes overlyhyped. im just disappointed honestly, someone i looked up to and expected so much from just doing besthi to his music.

i guess the time has come to attempt to surpass him ;)

The idea of mixing Knight Rider in wasn't even his. Kray Twinz mixed it live and he just used the idea and built on it but never gave them credit that's why there's always been controversy between the PMC and Kray Twinz camp. Either way the guy has enough hits under his belt if hes burning out now then oh well at least he will always have an amazing run to show for

the song is meh, I agree PMC hasn't been producing music like he use to. Before his music was really creative and artistic and it just sounded more complete and original, now it just seems like he uses the same formula for all of his songs, just different lyrics and melodies each time.

I still think his songs like mirza part II, mirza junglist, raat na bole, mundian ton bach ke, jatt hogiya sharabi, sassi and a whole slew of other sick tracks were part of his prime and I'm glad I grew up with that music around but I think tru school/tigerstyle/kaos have just taken over and really it makes sense these newer guys are far more advanced with their music, especially tigerstyle they pretty much mastered every style/genre that can be mixed with bhangra.

Tigerstyle is my biggest inspiration ever as far as bhangra production. i simply cannot wrap my head around how they do it so flawlessly.

Tigerstyle were geniuses .. I used to love them for their HARDCORE desi beats with a touch of urban
Now they are a bunch of hipsters that sold their souls to the non-conformists

The real daddies of the industry are Kam Frantic & Bhota & Bally Jagpal from B21
