Thanks Jeeti for those words bro, really appreciate it.
Meistro, because you address the question with respect, I will do the same. I do participate in other forums, but why do I like the BTF forum alot better? Because, partly, I believe the lack of morality, intellect, and compassion for issues of Punjab stem a lot from this crowd. There are VERY little places where you can discusses issues about Punjab with punjabis and have consistent feedback that you get here. When you do find these places, people are like myself, they think like myself, and they have the same passion for the issues as I do.
The lack of morality is something so concerning to me, that often it consumes parts of my time. So, when I come here, I want to hear thoughts, insight, and people's concerns that are on the outside looking in. Why they might not care, and when they do care, how EVOLVED are their decisions. I find that the problem with the so many people on this website is that THEY HATE TO GO OUT ON A LIMB, and say something concrete. They dont want to have an opinion. They might say something like racism sucks, or let's bomb China, but rarely want to have an evolved opinion which our community is DESPERATE OF. So a part of me is interested in how these people deal with the issues, and another part of me is wanting to rile up some sort of attention, awareness, positive or negative to the issues.
For every Vick, that comments "1-800-Jenny Craig" on the issue of wearing Kara's, you get someone like Jeeti, Arjunarjun, or Harman etc.. That may not always argee with me, but have a sense of totality about the issues that is lacking so much in the Punjabi community. These are the people who I think, can be such a help to the community, and to our people. That can use their intellect and passion (even if it disagess with mine, me and harman dont argee on most things) to help the issues get more steam on forums like BTF.
Let's be honest, I dont like to give myself a pat on the back... But how many people where indepthly knowledgable about the issues like Farming, like the setbacks in Bhangra, like the death of women all over india... There are a lot of issues that I have raised, that out of sheer conterversy has made people more aware. Now, you have some people actually googling the issues, getting educated on it, so either to help out on the discussion, or not be the victim of my views about the lack of morality in the punjabi community.
I'm not dumb man, I know im not a popular guy especially when you raise issues and concerns about people's morality. On top of that, you challenge something they enjoy in Bhangra. But it NEEDS to be done, and if I can accomplish this very slightly in the BTF community, and there is something made from this, Ill be happy.
I've met, literally like 20 or people who have said I have opened their eyes. I dont want credit, because I dont deserve it. I think so many other people deserve more than I do. But, there have been so many people that i have met that said thanks for evaluating the issues. Thanks for creating some fire in the bhangra community to what ever little it extent it is, you become a little more educated. Again I dont deserve it, because I have such a negative view of the Bhangra community. I cant ever be a role model, because I dont have the tree hugger attitude you need to take ignorance.
I think the issues are important and need to be talked about. I insult people personally when it becomes fun and if they insult me first-- ie-Vick. Other than that, to get a contrasting opinion from the people who I believe are hurting the community a lot more than helping (because they are helping in some manner)... I feel like I am growing as a person.. dont want to live in some igloo
I rarely research my posts, they are actually product of my research that I do everyday. I watch very little TV and am addicted to learning because that oppertunity was restricted to me in India... So thats my deal... If you have any other questions and I loved how you arised that last question because it was respectful, ill gladly enjoy entertain it.
Take care,
