Hello BTF Community,
This is an official reply from NSM2 Bhangra that all of us have written sitting together right now. We would first like to state that we are sorry for the manner in which recent events have occurred. We had no intentions of hurting anyone. We hope that people will consider our response to be of the utmost sincerity.
First, we really can’t believe that there are 8 pages of posts attacking us without us having made any response and saying anything at all. Moreover, it hurts to see people accuse us who didn’t witness any of this firsthand and have no legitimate recollection of any of the events that transpired. We find this extremely hostile towards ourselves. We decided not to originally respond because we felt like we had already been villainized past the extent of giving an explanation. However, we feel that we should at least give our side of the story whether or not it will make a difference. Second, we are not the ones that changed the placings, so we don’t understand why it is being tossed on us. Furthermore, none of our members or our parents threatened anyone. If anything was said, it was God’s watching and more God oriented comments, if those are considered threats then sure, we are guilty of that. Honestly, our team has not reflected this conduct before and have a good standing with most judges and organizations, so I think it is a bit unfair to take one incident and blow it out of proportion.
In a so-called attempt to make us more respectful this forum has become a place for extreme disrespect and a number of false rumors as well as false claims…
Ankurk-Ooh lalala-This is totally uncalled for and extremely disrespectful to people you do not even know. You have no idea what the truth is and you are making remarks about another person’s personal relationship, which is quite disgusting on behalf of the btf community who is trying to teach us respect right now. BTF where’s the justice?

First, we would never apply to RPVD. Second, your own actions that night and in the past don’t reflect any type of professionalism. Fingering us at the competition during our performance, swearing at my team members, and showing extreme amounts of disrespect throughout the whole competition towards a number of people besides us, doesn’t reflect any type of ethical conduct either-not so mature.
This comment just shows your true personality. BTF where’s the justice?
Additionally, why are you getting involved in this anyway when you have nothing to do with the competition and have no idea what happened backstage?

If you would like to discuss this contact Rishma, she will write a 10 page paper for you on the bhangra community and “culture”. Trust me our actions will be heavily outweighed.

If you don’t know what’s going on, why are you being disrespectful? That is embarrassing to yourself. Clearly you don’t know what you are talking about, so why try to add to the fire? Nobody on our team ever came close to saying something like this no matter how angry they were to anyone that day. BTF where’s the justice?

That is really weird and slightly psychotic…do you even know Sonali?
Aneeta- “While I was involved with Bruin as a committee member and not alum, we had "troublemaker" teams apply and accepted them. However, we did not confirm them until our expectations were understood. Fortunately, our version of "troublemaker teams" were teams known to start fights...what NSM did by far exceeds anything I could have ever imagined. If I had the misfortune to have them in my line-up, I would not hesitate to call and say, "Sorry there is no longer a spot available for your team. You are not welcome at X competition. Here is your reg money. Good luck." Every committee has their own way of dealing with situations like this though, so I'm sure whatever Jashan decides to do or not do will work best for them.
Having quality teams apply to your competition and attend the event is a pure joy and makes all of the work worth the effort. There'd be absolutely no joy in hosting a team like this. “
Do you know us? Were you there? We don’t say our actions were good but they didn’t even come close to what we have seen at other competitions. We have seen reputable teams push people, threaten people, break anything and everything, throw people’s paggs off, do everything from drink and smoke at venues to steal and we can’t believe you guys overlook that but NSM demanding answers that were never answered, let’s call a world war on them.
Over 140 posts, the majority not knowing what’s going on have made us sound like monsters.
Siddyp- “While I can agree to what Mrchicity is saying, we shouldn't say that RPVD isn't doing what they feel is best for their organization. They don't want to take a chance on dealing with a potential problem so they took action. Even if it was 4-5 people that brought the team down, that's all it takes. A lot of the hate is stemming from these few members' childish and classless behavior. (the attacks on the judges and facebook statuses) If anything, as a new member, take this as a very blunt hint NOT to do these things because it is not respected, and it is frowned upon in the bhangra community.”
RPVD isn’t calling us out on their actions, they themselves don’t have a clean record…AVA and RPD the 2 teams holding this competition have beef with us, so that is the only reason Johnny is adding to the hate. Nobody said anything when Johnny announced his competition a day before ours after we had already announced it 2 weeks before, in order to take us down… that was so ethical right. Once again, Johnny’s own conduct doesn’t reflect any type of greatness, so let’s not go to accountability there. BTF where’s the justice?
Kiren Jhutty- “NSM...I didnt want to say anything directly to you guys bc I dont know you. All i know is what I personally witnessed that night while waiting to speak to the judges. To the rest of us, it looked like your ENTIRE team was taking part of the "riot", along with your parents and groupies. I'm TRULY SORRY that those of you who weren't a part of it must be clumped in with THAT same group of people bc you are on the same team. The way those individuals acted towards the judges and the rest of the teams is unforgivable and props to RPVD for taking a stand. I hope Jashan follows in your footsteps. No, its not fair to punish the whole team, but if I was in your shoes NSM, I'd consider dropping thsoe that have brough this upon you....real quick. I know the actual placings were changed by Antar but if you wanted to fix this whole mess you guys could've told her you wouldn't take the placing change THIS way...that would have been the RIGHT thing to do, not flaunting on FB that you were given first place bc you rightfully earned it. I don't regularly posts on BTF, nor do I try to be a part of the controversies that are addressed here but after seeing the iphone pic of the status update (directed towards MY team) from your "captain" I just wanted to point out how completely immature you sound and it just confirms to EVERYONE that you show no sense of team respect, sportsmanship or remorse for what you did that night.”
That same girl sent the nicest reply to some member of your team this morning confirming that that post was in no-way intended towards your team. She even said that we have no problems with you or any of the teams no matter what they have stated on this forum. This is again a completely baseless post that you just seem to be venting out anger in without speaking to other members of your team who we have been extremely courteous too.
Lessbihonest- “So in the end, ban the specific individuals who screamed profanities at them and slap the unpard parents who threatened the judges and teaching their illiterate kids that it's okay to act like a bandar” is INCREDIBLY DISRESPECTFUL. To parents who you don’t know and only referred to God over and over again, you should think ten times before saying anything. You don’t know whether the accusations are true or false, so once again fear god about what you were saying to our god-like parents. Everybody’s parents work very hard to raise their children and they do way more than enough to bring them up as educated individuals. Every single person on our team is a university student and many of them are going on to graduate school. All of our parents being originally from India have come to Canada and worked hard, too hard in some instances to give us a good life. If we start speaking in the context of our parents, all of us are spoiled little brats because we have time to waste on pointless online forums. We can listen to any type of bashing on us but going to our parents is completely rude, unnecessary, and THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL COMMENT EVER!!!! BTF where’s the justice?
We also want to give a shoutout to the mods for taking off some of the disrespectful comments that are completely unnecessary and don’t belong but I don’t understand why others have been allowed to remain there.
We did demand answers about results but many of you on btf have gone well beyond any type of ethical concern, conduct, or respect. Moreover, you have bashed us for more than 24 hours. We were in a situation where we didn’t have time to rethink our actions and were very angry but many of you are sitting in front of a computer screen and very aware of your actions. If you say these types of things in full awareness, I don’t want to know what you would sound like in our situation? Why not issue a btf ban on you?
To all of the fake accounts that have emerged, if you think hiding behind a computer screen and making random accusations and just simply hating makes you credible?
We think we have said enough although we could quote every single person and keep going on about this but we think that is unnecessary. This placing was awarded to us by the organization and we thank them for giving us first place. Obviously, we thought we deserved it and our performance speaks for itself. We would like to thank the organizer for overlooking our actions and taking a second look at what happened with judging. But that being said, it has nothing to do with what happened with other teams even though many people for some strange reason want to throw us in that loop. To summarize, the past few days haven’t exactly been a joyride for us nor was the weekend. Our team feels targeted and honestly this forum has blown basically everything out of proportion and again going to our parents is completely out of line. On the other hand, we hope that everyone understands where we are coming from and this bashing NSM can end. This post is being made once again from the 15 members that make up this team and are the feelings of this team in its entirety.
