Ron Artest gets traded to the Rockets for rookie Donte Green, Bobby Jackson, and a 1st round 2009 pick...what do you guys think?

I would say its a good trade, but then im thinking- isnt Shane Battier a younger Ron Artest? what are they gonna do with him?

Thats the first think I thought when I heard about the trade....

Why did the rockets trade for a shane battier slight upgrade. Yeah I know that artest can score more, but still, as far as defensively, battier and artest are very similar.

Also, the kings got jipped. Donte Greene is not that great in my opinion, and Bobby Jackson is a has been. I much rather would have taken the Lakers offere which was Odom for Artest. Something about the kings thats weird about me. From hiring Reggie Theis, to drafting Jason Thompson like 20 spots ahead, to trading mike bibby for scraps. Why trade for Sheldon williams and then draft thompson?

COuld have gotten a lot more for those two players. Kevin Martin benefits from playing on that shitty team. His stats are going to sky rocket.

what artest brings to the rocket is a set of balls, to put it bluntly. battier is a great defensive player, and one of the greatest ever at taking charges, but aside from him, the rest of the team is soft. you bring in a guy like artest, who is pure intensity and energy, and if he doesnt fire up your roster, then the team needs its pulse checked.

i agree with summy...i thought the lakers offered a better deal for artest then the rockets. if i was the Rockets GM i would've def. asked for Shane Battier in the deal for Ron.
