Re: RU Bhangra at Boston 2011

Wow!! Im impressed! Good job, I loved the old school schools, super clean, dancers are strong and the formations were awsome, they were the highlight of your set in my opinion.

You guys need to compete more, the creativity was awsome in many parts, I loved the choreo to the imran khan song!

Just a few things i noticed
-0:57 was way too sgpd, you never want someone to watch parts of you set and think about another team
- the main chorus of the miss pooja song 6:41 didnt really work, and it was too close to the ending to drop the routine.
- some of your dancers kick up and some kick back

And the vardiyan looked sickk :p ahah self pump!

not a huge fan of this set, after seeing it live and on video. i though certain dancers did a great job but nothing new or creative. didn't feel like the crowd responded to the gimmicks at all. just the first comp of the yr though good luck rutgers!!!

Hmmm.....not sure what you saw here but I completely disagree

Formations were continually creative throughout the ENTIRE set.....i cant really find one segment where formations or creativity in dancing was boring. I was def captivated the entire routine.

But therein lies the problem. I don't think it was 'gimmicky' enough for a boston set. If this was a burgh i think you guys def would have a chance of placing...again thats just how the cookie crumbles.

My few suggestions:
I felt 5:33 was very awkward. You guys stoppped dancing, walked to the middle of the stage then started your mirza which obv is a short segment. I almost felt like it stopped the flow of your entire routine. Otherwise I liked the transitions especially the way you guys got rid of the Khunde.

Overall I really enjoyed this set.....however it was not a 'boston' set if you know what i mean. I loved the jodi interactions throughout which def kept it interesting. Energy was okayy at some points esp toward the end all the dancers just gotta give 110% and formations were nasty. I look forward to seein u guys at other competitions this year!

Oh and Arjun is a sickk dancer

Just to clarify, the strobe before the mirza was supposed to be a blackout. You're absolutely right about how it came out though, def something we should fix up. thanks!

overall, great job. this was a sick performance. formations hit like mad. you guys had some really sick stuff. yellow jodi killed it the whole way through.

couple of things,

in the khunde segment (this is more of a personal critique) but im not a fan of that many slow downs in one segment. yes one or two make it dirty, but it starts getting annoying after a whole segment of them. second khunde segment was sick though

form was a little sloppy at the end. try to fix that.

really sick performance though. you guys set a high standard for other co-ed teams!
