I still think the sharks wont get anywhere in the western conference and will probably choke like they do every year in the playoffs. The wings are by far still the best team in the NHL. The leafs are 2-0 under Brian Burke. We got the 2nd best GM in the league (next to ken holland), and soon Dave Nonis is on board.
You realize Vick, for me and you brother, tomorrow is the stanley cup. I dont care if the sharks go undefeated the rest of the year, if they lose, thats it brother.

You want to know what stats matter? Look at how many stanley cup winners there are on the red wings. Look how many cups the red wings have won. Compare that to Johnathan Chechoo and the other guys that disappear once the playoffs roll around.
You guys are the like the Minnesota Timberwolves with Garnett. You make the playoffs, but when it comes to experience and winning the big game, your players dont show up. Admit it, last year where was thorton? Where was cheecho? Where was half your team when it mattered?

This Sharks team is vastly different from last year... With the additions of Blake, Boyle and Lukowich, we have 3 guys in the top 10 in defenseman scoring in the NHL... Thats never happened before... All four of our lines score now... Cheechoo plays on the 2nd/3rd line, yea thats how loaded we are... We needed a coach who could motivate, with Mclennan we found one... This is the beginning of a dynasty... You heard it first here... San Jose, "the new Hockeytown?", sounds about right to me...

Vick, I am not saying the sharks are not good. They are a good team, better than I thought they would be.
If I recall, the biggest downfall of the sharks last year was their play late in the games. I think the Stars beat them in OT 3 out of 4 times last year. Adding Dan Boyle, and Rob Blake, who are cement footed defenseman isnt going to help you late in the games. Now, maybe that was the coaching last year, and the fact that he didnt spend the minutes out as he should but during the playoffs, the game slows down, and it becomes a dog fight rather than the high pace that we see in the regular season. Can the sharks, a team notoriously assoicated with getting their period during the playoffs, are they able to play well into the game, including OT? Or are teams gonna continue to trap until those old guys wear down, and then pound the puck down low ?
I would have gone out and got some grit and some young d men if I were sharks. Especially with todays game, you gotta have young quick d men.

with brian campbell last year u gys had a shot...but now since ur idiotic franchise let him go and didnt give him his money (which you easilyyy could of)..ur defense doesnt stand a chance..hes the best defensemen in today's game..the best defensive skater..and he also gives ur power play the biggest advantage from teh point

...very unfortunateI agree with Vick, at this very moment the Sharks are the best team in then NHL. Their record prooves it. They are 5 points up on the defending Stanley Cup Champions,they are the leagues highest scoring team(92), and rank second in the Western Conference in goals against, and fourth overall(57). That's pretty solid.
As far as the Sharks defence goes, I think it's one of the best cores out there. They have a good mix of young guns with speed, and then have some vets with playoff success. (Boyle, Blake)
BUT as we know tho, they have yet to proove themselves where it counts, and that's the post season. Anything less then a Stanley Cup Finals appearance is going to be a let down for the Sharks organization in my opinion.

Christian Erhoff is playing out of his mind right now, that makes it 4 puck moving defenseman... Brian Campbell is not worth how much he gets paid... He sucked it up last year in the playoffs... If anything, we were one of the most grittiest teams last year... This year we've added the speed factor to our repetoir because of Mclennans coaching style... Marleau is on fire... Ryan Clowe is a beast down low... Even Jumbo Joe is parking himself in front of the net... Devin Setoguchi is one of the best players in the league right now... Nabby was hurt for two weeks, and we only lost one game... Joe Pavelski is just sick nasty... It speaks wonders about this team... When we out shoot every team by 20 every night, you know you are doing something right... We played Calgary in the first round last year, that series was all about being strong on the boards and keeping your head up, we survived it... Now with our speed in the equation, we are also one of the better power play teams in the league, and we hardly take any penalties... This is as complete of a team as you can get... Many think that if we still had Campbell we wouldnt be where we are today...

5-2 Summy boy... Could have easily been 8-0, but we stopped playing after we got up 4-0 in the first period... The game was actually pretty boring... The two teams couldnt be anymore different... For a while it seemed like we were playing a middle school team... You guys have a long way to go to be even considered somewhat of a threat... I wont beat down on you anymore, I think I've done it enough in the past year or so...
oh and just for the record, we just tied Montreals 1944 season for the best start in the history of the NHL... just thought I would throw that out there for the hockey enthusiasts... 8 game winning streak... I think the Sharks should play the world in the all star game... hahaha....
