Fantastic performance. Was really impressed with what I saw from you all at Burgh and you took it to another level here. Formation movements were engaging and constant, choreo flowed and made sense, execution was on point, and there wasn't a single moment wasted. It's a shame that you girls didn't win this comp (and there's no question after seeing the other videos that you deserved nothing short of first) but please keep doing what you're doing, its nice to watch a team that relies and focuses entirely on its dancing above everything else. Hopefully you'll be rewarded appropriately your next time around.
The only critiques I had of the performance:
- You could have a little more bounce with your legs throughout the set. Karthik already alluded to the beginning of the jhummar being a little weak. I think if you start dancing on the balls of your feet and really try to stay off your heels for more of the set, it would take the execution over the top (I've also found that this makes the entire routine much easier from a physical standpoint as well).
- Modhe was great for the most part, but there were some parts where a move or segment called for more and it was lacking. Jugni came to mind in particular, and punjab right after the drop of Punjabne. It's a little thing, but I think it would add a lot if there was a little more bounce in those spots (and a few others).
- Khunda chaal. This is one of my biggest pet peeves, but please move your feet! Just like the other two comments I had, it's just gonna add more bounce to the dancing and make it that much better.
Like I said though, this was a fantastic performance. I'm being nitpicky with these critiques and even if you didn't listen to a word I just said, I would still get excited watching an SMD set. Keep it up and best of luck!
