just goes back to my idea we need to have a Olympic bhangra competitions with couple of teams from each country.
Here's my rant about this:
I would love to see bhangra teams in different countries have their own styles based on their current countries/environment. For example, bhangra from 5 years ago (aka "modern bhangra") seemed distinctly different from traditional indian bhangra and could be coined as "american bhangra". Popular dance styles these days like hiphop relies on visual effects, stunts and gimmicks. Now, the circuit seems split between "indian bhangra" and "american bhangra". Not a conflict of any sort, but like an equilibrium of styles.
I would love to see an emergence of "italian bhangra", if possible. And of other countries.
