SAFAR, the Sikh Feminist Research Institute is holding a conference on Saturday October 1st entitled "Our Journeys" to be held at the University of Toronto.

Sessions include:
Reconnecting the disconnect: A Sikh Feminist Gosht
Lived Experiences: Sikh Women, Work & Society
Diaspora and Culture: Resisting Social Pressures
Gender and Sexuality: A Lived Reality Unrecognized
I encourage anyone with even a slight interest to attend the event, there are some brilliant minds who will be sharing their thoughts. The event represents the culmination of the efforts of some very dedicated individuals and community support -not academic merit- is the most gratifying part of putting on an event like this. They're also looking for volunteers to help, so do get in touch if you'd like to contribute your time.
