As for the dance, I really liked the idea of going live but that segment needs alot of work... especially with energy. Live pieces needed as much, if not more energy then the rest of the dance. I really liked the energy once you started the music part, but yall kinda died out at the end. Also, make sure your more coordinated (probably wouldve been if there was more time to practice).

Did anyone else record it? I think the video would be alot better if there weren't so many view changes.

You ladies have a lot of potential to be a threat to not only the other girl teams but co-ed teams as well. I've never seen girls go live, and so the execution can definitely be cleaned up and perfected.

UBC Girlz and Jawani Girls have had live segments all last year. Check gabrootv --> Bhangra Bash 2008 they were both there with sick live segs.

Hey guys, much love to SMD but I see no constructive criticism on here whatsoever. I think Sulman specifically put this on BTF rather than just leaving it floating on other sites (FB & YouTube) because they want to know what to fix, improve besides cleaning up. I already emailed Sulman and told him my opinions. So I think a few of you both experienced AND unexperienced need to watch the dance carefully and make suggestions, compliments, what to keep what to switch up etc

Maybe specifically what is strong, what is weak. I know that would help me.

Drop the live segment... Needs a lot of work... Im not sure how it would look even if it were perfect... The whole routine lacked ENERGY... Please youtube some videos of Jasmine(lbc girl?) or my girl Ginny on UVA, and see how much energy they bring to the table... The routine was flat, like a coke bottle left open for a few days... I'm sure you girls have a lot of talent, but I would bury this video for life... If it was the lack of practice on your parts, then shame on you guys for disrespecting the competition by putting up a lackluster performance... Tons of teams apply to these shows and many get left out, you should feel honored to perform on stage, you shouldnt take it for granted... Instead of making those SMD videos, maybe you all should be practicing during that time...

1) The crowd can be lame, but you just have to work through it, it happend to us before

2) I noticed that you tried to be traditional in your style of dancing, but the problem is that you can see that you were 'trying' to be traditional, so you need to fix the technicality of your moves. If they are meant to be done pure folk then make sure you do them like that , if not then thats your style so its ok.

3) I have this personal opinion that you shouldnt attempt live until you have perfected music first. Live requires a lot more stamina and technicality. its one of those things, either do it properly or dont do it at all, so you girls need to work on that section ALOT!!

4) I thought at certain parts the moves didnt fit, you need to find your style

5) try cutting your chunia and making them shorter, the shorter they are the cleaner your dancing looks. If you watch our Showdown video you'll see ours were really long too and then in the groundshaker one youll see we cut them a lot shorter. VCU/Duniya has really nicely tied ones too

6) I also think you salwars are too heavy as in too much material, it doesnt make your legs look as high as they actually are, kinda weighs them down.

I actually haven't seen the costumes yet (I was not there) but i agree with Harkiran, the salvaars looked huuuge I dunno why...but not sure what can be done about that! Chunnis definitely need to be tied higher as well, it'll make the outfits look better.

Already told peeps my thoughts, hopefully soon I will be on the other side of this critique when LIFE LETS ME.

I agree with everything harkiran said.....but ill add a few more things...........

1) Girls shouldnt do mirza. That move in particular is meant to be extra manly. You are supposed to execute the move as if you are impersonating the Brave Mirza jatt. With that said, should girls do it? I think not.

2) I think the singer was good, but weak for a live singer. She sounded very dead and monotone.

3) I think you guys went a bit overboard on the old school song selection. Wasn't really feeling it.

4) I think you guys need to practice execution the most because you cant just say hey i wanna go traditional but bring that. The team has potential but the dancers look very confused.

5) The choreography looked slapped together. Doesnt seem like you guys put any thought into it. Looked really awkward.

I hope this criticism helps. in no way am I dissing you guys. Definitely a lot of potential.
