Penguins got my vote!
Who cares if they touched the Eastern Conference Cup
Its not bad luck :D
Besides with Crosby and Malkin tied with 28 points with the league lead
And Lead in points 14-12 ( Crosby having 14)
Penguins have a good resume on their hands

BTF can keep on doubting the Red Wings. Where are all the Shark and Canucks fans who talked crazy trash about Detroit now? We will repeat..and still get no respect.

ahh badwal you beat me to it.

The conference quarterfinals had little excitement to offer to the regular person. Both the pens and redwings dominated the blackhawks and canes.

After fleury stole game 1, the pens never looked back and didn't let the canes do anything the rest of the series. Any life that Matt Cullen gave scoring first in game 3 and Eric Staals in game 4 was quickly put to rest as the pens never let the canes get more than a glimpse of hope. Some of the games were back and forth for a little bit, but when the pens pulled away, the canes couldn't keep up. Jordan wins series 1 vs Eric. The Canes showed grit and passion going through the devils and the 2nd biggest upset of the playoffs by beating the bruins. Cam Ward couldn't stand on his head anylonger, and Crosby and Malkin took over. I wasn't expecting a sweep, but you can't deny how dominant the pens were. Mad props to the Canes for not only storming into the playoffs, but causing some ruckus in them as well.

The redwings and hawks gave us a little more excitement with the games being closer and the 'original six' battle and the chicago vs detroit rivalry. The hawks were no match for the redwings. Heart and passion from the hawks made 3 games close. The sad part is, they lost 2 of them, and got blown out on the other two. Mad props to the Hawks all playoffs as they overcame the odds and critics who predicted them to fall to the flames and canucks. Them losing is definitely a huge learning experience for a young Hawks team. This will not the last time we hear from toewes, kane, and the blackhawks.

There are as many story lines for this Stanley Cup Final series as there was for T.O. last season. Hossa leavin the pens for the wings, the rematch, the health situations from last year are swapped, crosby and malkin are a year better, a different supporting cast for the pens, and there can't be much more but there probably is.

The Penguins are coming into the finals with maybe only one question mark health wise: Sergei Gonchar and his knee. He'll probably be alright. The wings got lidstrom, datsyuk, draper, erricson, and lilja all on the injury list. On paper the wings look pretty banged up, but their depth is ridiculous. They showed it against Chicago, that it doesn't matter. They're the Wings, and they'll play the same with or without those players.

Crosby and Malkin are a year better. No one can argue that. They're playing better this year than last. They see the ice better, make smarter decisions, and play better defense. Their supporting cast is much much different. Last year: Hossa, dupuis, malone, sykora, ruutu, roberts, hall, whitney, sydor. This year: Kunitz, Guerin, Fedetenko, Satan, Cooke, Adams, Letang, and Eaton. You can argue that this years is better than last years, but I can't decide which way to go. Both teams played and play with great chemistry. I think the difference is Malkin and Crosby. They are a year better. This years cast gets the bump because of that.

Hossa signing Detroit stunned the hockey world, but sent shockwaves through pittsburgh. I was about to tee off at a golf tournament when I heard the news. I made a bogey on the first hole. Do i think he's a traitor, no. Would i boo him, no. He made a professional move. The cup isn't guarenteed to no one. He felt the best shot to win the cup was in detroit and i would have to agree with him. Same team from last years cup win, who wouldn't think the same? He's gonna be offered the same contracts as he got last off season, so why not? If the wings win, he's a genuis. If they lose, I wouldn't feel bad for him. ;D

The Redwings are the best team in Hockey. No one can argue with there skill and depth. They don't beat themselves and all 18 forwards and defensemen play 2 ways. There are the same old redwings, but with Hossa. The pens are probably the hottest team in hockey. They are playing the most dominant hockey all season. Crosby and Malkin are on fire. The series will come down to the goalies. Osgood has shut the critics with his playoff performance. If he out plays fluery and can keep the pens high octane attack in check, wings win. If fleury keeps the wings attack in check, and crosby and malkin continue in their amazing ways, pens win.

82 games, 3 7-game series. All the punches given and taken, the injuries, the practice, it all comes down to this. Let the games begin.

This is pretty simple. If the Wings are healthy....we win. If not, Pens have a chance. Right now I'm worried bc the morons at the NHL scheduled 3 games in 4 nights....and as of now, lidstrom and ericsson are playing in game 1, datsyuk is iffy and draper is out.

LOL its not gonna be that easy. but word is Datsyuk has a broken foot. could be a huge blow for detroit in this series.
but they're detroit redwings with lots of depth remember? who cares if "the morons at NHL scheduled 3 games in 4 nights" and they have a few injured players. No excuses. This is the stanley cup finals. If they lose, they lose. You leave it all on the ice. Gonchar, the pens' top D-man, might be out and they're not making any excuses. Hell, Crosby and Malkin have been carrying that team on their backs.

1. Excuses? When was I making excuses? My post was simple....if we have injuries, it gives the pens a CHANCE...if not, we roll....isn't that pretty obvious? Either way we still win. Depth...best in the NHL. But if the best defenseman in the NHL the last 10 years misses games, it hampers the ability to neutralize both top lines. If Datsyuk, candidate for Hart trophy, is out.....it decreases playmaking and Babcock has less flexibility with his lines.
2. Who cares if the NHL scheduled 3 games in 4 nights (its actually 4 in 6)? Do I have to actually explain this to you? Go watch some TV....this format has been criticized widely for the past few days. Its not rocket science.
3. I'm glad you predicted the pens to win....if things go the way your previous predictions went, the Wings will be in good shape!

Woah, princess....good one....your so macho. As expected, you just don't get it....the scheduling issues involve more than the red wings....think outside of your little box for once...........
(waiting for next childish response)
