Hey guys I recently downloaded Sony Acid and Fruity Loops and decided to play around and thought to maybe try making a mixtape. I know this is way over the top. It started as goofing around but I want to make a proper mix. I also don't know how to equalize and all that stuff. Very new here haha If anyone has feedback please comment and maybe give me some tips if you have the time. Thanks.

for a starter mix, it's not even bad. Keep at it! most important thing to do is READ. It's the only real way to make sense of everything you do in practice.

wow thank you so much. Sorry i didn't get what you meant by read. What do you mean by that?

Mixing tutorials, Tips and tricks, do's and don'ts, and most importantly, your software user guide.

There are literally 100's of 1000's of articles on the web about mixing.

Nice job! A great start for sure.

I would try to add a bit of padding/silence to the mix if you want to emphasize certain effects, lyrics, or parts of your mix. That "pause," in itself, adds a bit dynamic to a mix from a lister's standpoint.

Lastly, I would try to work creating memorable outro's.. with the amount of bhangra mixes being released, one thing that is so many DJ's using very standard effects such as "bruahhh" & the gunshot to conclude a mix. It's almost like an easy way to end something; shows lack of effort to someone like me (others might not mind).

Anyway, just wanted to give you my two cents. Keep posting your content here. Lastly, to go along with GSingh's "READ" comment, it's often helpful to read feedback given on other mixes so you can avoid making similarly "mistakes" or adjust your mix to please the intended audience better. So the point is you don't always have to get feedback on your specific mix to learn!

All the best,

~ Basim :)
