just one example of why I would never trust this government or fight for this government. They talk of bringing "freedom" and "liberty" to the world, yet deny their own citizens from freely expressing their faiths. And to top it off, they are lowering the standards to allow former felons to join the armed forces while not allowing good law abiding citizens the same opportunity because they feel their religious articles are "conspicuous". God bless Amerikkka.

Who would ever want to fight for a country who has no honorable or ethical foreign policy?
If you actually look into our foreign policy, its based on special interests, and was hijacked a longg time ago.
If we actually listened to our founding fathers, we wouldn't need a huge army, because we'd be minding our own business. We wouldn't be 'promoting and establishing democracy' while secretly destroying completely innocent countries and wasting trillions of dollars funding an illicit overseas empire.
Sikhism is about defending life and justice, not about fighting for a crooked army based on blasphemous motifs. I don't even understand why people are making a big deal about this. Sikhism is about patriotism for humanity, and for life as well. A real Sikh would be joining an animals' rights movement group, not trying to join an unjust army based on extremely cruel and unjust policies.

interesting article from a US news source. Obviously dumbed down, but I still find it interesting that a us news source would care enough to print this and provide a fairly positive tone...
