Surrey India Arts Club performing @ Bulldog Bhangra 2011.
They placed Second at this competition.

During an inspirational conversation I had backstage with Tejinder Singh Ji, he relayed to me that SIAC doesn't like to compete anymore, but rather they came to Fresno to "send a message" that this is "how it's supposed to be done". Very inspirational words. Watch and learn! :)

If anyone has a video of the singer doing the cell phone song at the mixer, please post it up, made my night :D.

Energy was clearly lacking but so much grace. Loved how much the singer and the chimta got into it as well.

... I think apna virsa coulda won if their older guys danced this comp, but I only saw the youngsters dancing.


they probably quit by now, which is a shame. old is definitely gold in bhangra, and thats why siac did so good

Chimta player was EPIC. best i've seen - FINALLY someone who gets involved in the dance in a way that i thought was Juuuust right. Not too distracting, not too stolid like most chimta players are haha :) loved it! Congrats to you guys on the placing!

haHA around 4:15 the chimta player is doing the shushing noises (ch ch, ch ch) in the jhummar hahahahaha. i thought the chimta is supposed to make that noise! hahahaha jk

The actually had a guy behind the curtain doing sound effects and lalkaare. ;0

Tejinder bhaji (Chimta) is so legit!!!

WHO REMEMBER THE DDA 2006 performance!!!

Tejinder bhaji was all over the video, the most graceful dancer, performance, EVER!

Even the chimta performance was a performance of its own.

Legit dhol ustaad Raymond, singer was sick, so were the dancers!

dude in blue stood out especially towards the end, just wasnt on the same level as all the other dancers in terms of energy. saap getting stuck sucks, all saaps should have 6 slats instead of 5, so you dont have to worry about em gettin stuck if u open em too much accidentally. singer had a great voice and didnt fade out at all, definitely liked the fact that the singer and chimta player did lalkarey and other effects.
