Idk, these are hands down the best dancers in the circuit, but maybe they're bored or something so they modify every single move that they can. Whatever it was, the overall effect was lost on me. Once again, can't say enough about the dancing skill here, but the set was just too weird for my taste, not really a fan.
agreed. energy was unreal. but the set was like 50% bhangra, only. so many modifications and small little jumping moves made it more of a complex dance routine, although the degree of difficulty was probably highest of the night. that slip in the beginning was rough, even though she recovered.
I also agree.. way too many hop step moves to be bhangra. But the set still looked pretty damn sick lol

I saw this routine live, and I can say that TAG at least partly fell victim to the insane gimmickyness of the other sets of the night. I didnt get a chance to see ABC (had to leave early) but AEG, Empire, and even DRP had pretty gimmicky routines. Empire, at times, was like a straight magic show/circus act. perhaps that's what the judges were wowed by this year.
Um... dude, THIS IS BRUIN!! The cleanest team with the best gimmick wins. That's just how it goes. Traditionality is just barely a factor. This is the circuit's comp to experiment, and to just flat out have fun!

The rules of Bruin are simple-entertain a crowd by any means necessary. The winner is the team that does the best job at this.

As noted by Faizan, there were no surprises.

For the most part, I liked this set. A few things:
1) As noted before, props to the girl in the red chunni. Not easy recovering from a thing like that.
2) I kinda got bored after a while. The set had a lot of energy and hype, but there was no variation. Even the jhummar was fast... but after watching for 6 minutes, even the hype/energy got boring. The segments just seemed to mesh together.
3) Amazing. Amazing. Dancers.

I thought the set looked great and the energy should be emulated by other teams, props to our lovely lady in the red who recovered 200% great job!

This set was "HELLA" (only dancers get why its in quotes) sick all the guys and girls tore that stage a new one dancing wise untouchable, if it came down to dancing and not gimmicks they just set the standard

Shoutout to homegirl in red had a fall but the recovery that she made into the rest of the set was amazing, it didnt look like it effected her performance at all

shout out to the guys esp bobby and ASG sick weekend HELLA HELLA sick ;)

At the end of the day this is a dance competition. Your gimmicks shouldn't speak louder than your dance, they are supposed to enhance it. Teams lose track of this.
TAG well executed set. I watched it numerous times and loved the creativity and how you blended your set together.
One thing I did notice is the Style didn't remind me to TAG or SGPD, Its kind of a new style. Not sure if that was on purpose or not.

Much respect to you guys for keeping the dance element live.

i think the sgpd/tag style is evolving, and is definitely moving away from the status quo. whether other teams will embrace it as they have with sgpd's style in the past remains to be seen. either this style will sink sgpd or it will just become the new normal, as their style did in 2009...let's see...

Energy was absolutely insane in this, mad props! But yes, like some other guys pointed out, I think it might have been a little too much. But I loved your saap segment especially, and big ups to the girl in red - it's not easy recovering like that. The gimmicks some other placing teams must've had must've been intense because this is definitely a placing performance anywhere else in my opinion. Keep it real!
